Dermot Bourke, 7th Earl Of Mayo
Dermot Robert Wyndham Bourke, 7th Earl of Mayo (; ; 2 July 1851 – 31 December 1927) was an Anglo-Irish peer, styled Lord Naas (; ) from 1867 to 1872, who served as an List of Irish representative peers, Irish representative peer in the British House of Lords (1890–1921) and member of the Senate of Southern Ireland (1921–1922) and Seanad Éireann (Irish Free State), Seanad Éireann (1922–1927). Life He succeeded as Earl of Mayo on the death of his father Richard Bourke, 6th Earl of Mayo in 1872. He was educated at Eton College, Eton, and was an officer in the 10th Hussars and the Grenadier Guards. In 1890 he was elected as an List of Irish representative peers, Irish representative peer and took his seat in the House of Lords. He was appointed a Knight of the Order of St Patrick on 3 February 1905. He was one of the four landlord representatives during the 1902 Land Conference. George Bell & Sons was an English book publishing house. It was based in London and existed from 1839 to 1986. History George Bell & Sons was founded by George Bell as an educational bookseller, with the intention of selling the output of London university presses; but became best known as an independent publisher of classics and children's books. One of Bell's first investments in publishing was a series of ''Railway Companions''; that is, booklets of timetables and tourist guides. Within a year Bell's publishing business had outstripped his retail business, and he elected to move from his original offices into Fleet Street. There G. The Anglo-Normans (, ) were the medieval ruling class in the Kingdom of England following the Norman Conquest. They were primarily a combination of Normans, Bretons, Flemings, French people, Frenchmen, Anglo-Saxons and Celtic Britons. Elizabeth Wyndham (''née'' Ilive or Iliffe; c.1769 – 30 December 1822), styled the Countess of Egerton after 1801, was an English polymath. She was the mistress and later wife of George Wyndham, 3rd Earl of Egremont. She was the mother of eight of his children. Early life Elizabeth Ilive came from Oxford, and her father may have been a printer and/or a master at Westminster School. Thomas Hamilton Ayliffe was her younger brother. Marriage and issue Ilive became one of Wyndham's mistress in 1785. The earl lived openly with his various mistresses and acknowledged paternity of more than 40 illegitimate children. George O'Brien Wyndham, 3rd Earl of Egremont Royal Society#Fellows, FRS (18 December 1751 – 11 November 1837) of Petworth House in Sussex and Orchard Wyndham in Somerset, was a British Peerage of Great Britain, peer, a major landowner and a great art collector. The Honourable Richard Bourke (22 April 1767 – 15 November 1832) was an Irish Church of Ireland cleric who was Dean of Ardagh (1800–1813) and the last Bishop of Waterford and Lismore (1813–1832) before it merged with the defunct Ecclesiastical Province of Cashel. Early life Born into an aristocratic family, Bourke was the second son of Joseph Bourke, 3rd Earl of Mayo and his wife Elizabeth Meade, the daughter of Richard Meade, 3rd Baronet. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford. Career Bourke was appointed Prebendary of Tuam in 1791, Rector of Templemichael and of Mohill in 1795 and became Dean of Ardagh in 1800 before his elevation to the episcopacy. George Wyndham, 1st Baron Leconfield (5 June 1787 – 18 March 1869), was a British soldier and hereditary peer. Early life A direct descendant of Sir John Wyndham, he was born in 1787, the eldest natural son of George Wyndham, 3rd Earl of Egremont, and Elizabeth Ilive. His parents were married in 1801 but had no sons after their marriage. Military career Wyndham entered the Royal Navy in 1799 as a midshipman on .
