Dereköy (literally "creekville") is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Bozyazı, Mersin Province, Turkey. Its population is 231 (2022). It is a mountain village in the Taurus Mountains. The distance to Bozyazı is about . The population of the village is composed of Turkmens. Dereköy was once a part of İshaklar village situated to the south; but it was eventually issued from İshaklar. The main economic activities in the village are animal breeding and agriculture. Bozyazı
Bozyazı is a municipality and district of Mersin Province, Turkey. Its area is 642 km2, and its population is 26,812 (2022). It is on the Mediterranean coast, west of the city of Mersin. Geography Bozyazı is a remote coastal district with the Taurus Mountains as a backdrop; The roads over the mountains or along the coast from either direction are very difficult to drive making Bozyazı too far from large cities or the established centres of tourism to attract many visitors, so the district is quiet and unspoilt. However there are developments of holiday flats in some places, mainly owned by people from Konya and Ankara as well as foreigners. The sea is clean and Bozyazı is home to an important colony of the endangered Mediterranean monk seal. Taurus Mountains
The Taurus Mountains (Turkish language, Turkish: ''Toros Dağları'' or ''Toroslar,'' Greek language, Greek'':'' Ταύρος) are a mountain range, mountain complex in southern Turkey, separating the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean coastal region from the central Anatolia#Anatolian plateau, Anatolian Plateau.
