The derbi femení (; "women's derby") is the Association football rivalries, football rivalry between FC Barcelona Femení and RCD Espanyol (women), RCD Espanyol Femení, the women's divisions of the main football clubs in the Barcelona metropolitan area. Two of the first women's football teams in Spain, Barcelona and Espanyol first played against each other on 28 March 1971; in the 20th century, derby games were heavily contested and the teams became two of the most successful in Spain. Espanyol won the first Catalan league in 1972, and Barcelona won it in 1973. Melanie del Pilar Serrano Pérez (born 12 October 1989) is a Spanish Association football, footballer who plays as a left back for FC Levante Las Planas, Levante Las Planas in the Spanish Primera División (women), Primera División. She had a 19-season career with FC Barcelona Femení. Upon retirement, she was the club's leader in appearances and held the record for titles, with 27 trophies won. Early life Serrano was born in Seville on 12 October 1989. When Serrano was 12, her mother moved her and her sister to Blanes, Girona. Serrano’s first experience in a football team was with local side Deportivo Blanes. She underwent trials to join the club after her mother could not afford the fees necessary to join.
