Club Deportivo Mandiyú, also referred as Mandiyú is an Argentine association football, football club, based in Corrientes, in the Corrientes Province, Province of the same name. The squad currently plays in the regionalised fourth tier of Argentine football league system, the Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. History Foundation and regional success The club was founded under the name "Club Deportivo Tipoiti" on December 14, 1952, by a group of textile workers from the Tipoiti textile factory in Corrientes, Argentina. Because the Argentine Football Association did not accept commercial company names, the club had to change its name to "Club Deportivo Mandiyú", which means cotton in the indigenous language of Guaraní language, Guaraní. Estadio José Antonio Romero Feris
Estadio José Antonio Romero Feris is a association football, football stadium located in the city of Corrientes in the Corrientes Province, homonymous province of Argentina. It is owned and operated by local Huracán Corrientes, C.A. Huracán and was opened in 1986. The stadium has a capacity of 14,000 spectators. Apart from Huracán, other clubs of Corrientes have used the stadium to host their home football matches, some of they are Boca Unidos, Deportivo Mandiyú, and Textil Mandiyú. The stadium was named after José Romero Feris, a politician with a long career who served as Governor of the province (1983–87), and Argentine Senate, Senator of Argentina (1987–2001) among other positions. Copa Libertadores
The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as Copa Libertadores de América (), is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the '' Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Spanish American wars of independence and Brazilian Independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''Liberators of America Cup''". Club Social y Deportivo Textil Mandiyú, commonly referred as Textil Mandiyú, was an Argentine football club, based in Corrientes, in the Province of the same name. History In 1993, Deportivo Mandiyú chairman Eduardo Seferian tried the club to become a S.A. as a way to solve the serious economic problems of the institution but the Argentine Football Association did not allow the transaction. Torneo Argentino B
Torneo Argentino B was one of two leagues that form the fourth level of the Argentine football league system, made up of 100+ teams playing within eight regional zones across Argentina. The other league at level four wasand still isthe Primera C Metropolitana, which is a competition for the numerous clubs in the city of Buenos Aires and the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area. The Torneo Argentino B season would end with the top teams from each zone playing in cross-over playoffs, culminating with overall champions and a number of teams (varied by season) eligible for promotion to the following season's Torneo Argentino A competition. Sergio Javier Goycochea (; born 17 October 1963) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is best known for helping his country reach the 1990 FIFA World Cup Final with his penalty kick saves. Club career Goycochea played a few months in the French second division in 1991 for Stade Brestois 29, then named ''Brest Armorique'', a team which included players such as David Ginola, Corentin Martins and Stéphane Guivarc'h. Nonetheless, the team went bankrupt in November of that year, and was moved to the third division and lost its professional-team status. Félix Ricardo Torres Rodríguez (born 28 April 1964) is a former football striker and coach from Paraguay. Career Torres started his career in Nacional of Paraguay where he made his professional debut in 1981. In 1983, he was signed by Hércules CF where he played two seasons before returning to Paraguay to play for Nacional and Sol de América where he became one of the key players in the obtention of the 1986 Paraguayan 1st division by being the team topscorer and overall topscorer of that year in Paraguay.
