DeporTV is an Argentine over-the-air sports channel owned by Contenidos Públicos, S.A. and operated by Secretaría de Medios y Comunicación Pública. History The channel was established by Argentine president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner on April 12, 2012 and was initially operating a test service, which became a full-time service on February 21, 2013. The official launch of the channel was held at Tecnópolis and was inserted in the Ministry of Education. Events covered at launch included the Argentine soccer league (Fútbol Para Todos), Copa Argentina, local motorsports, Copa del Rey, the South American Athletics Championships, the ABC Spanish basketball league and original content. Suri TV was an Argentine over-the-air television station owned by Albavisión, airing programming produced by six of its channels in four countries. It was available on the nascent digital terrestrial television platform throughout its existence. History Suri TV started broadcasting on 3 January 2011 on channel 24.3. Albavisión was given two channels on MUX 24, the other being Video Éxito. The name came from the Quechua name for the ñandú (Rhea), which was used as the channel's symbol. The channel ceased transmission on 20 November 2013. It was speculated that its bandwidth would be used by the HD feed of state-run sports channel DeporTV. The station's employee, Daniela Tumburus, was fired approximately one month later, causing a strike on its sister channel, Canal 9. Pakapaka is an Argentine television channel and website providing shows and original programming for children ages 2 to 12 and their families. Launched initially as a programming section in the Encuentro television channel on September 23, 2007, and later as a digital terrestrial television and Free-to-air, FTA channel on September 17, 2010, although regular transmissions begun on September 9. It is operated by Argentina's Ministry of Human Capital. The word ''paka paka'' in Quechua languages, Quechua language refers to the "hide and seek" game.
