The Dent site is a Clovis culture (about 11,000 years before present) site located in Weld County, Colorado, near Milliken, Colorado. It provided evidence that humans and mammoths co-existed in the Americas. The site is located on an alluvial fan alongside the South Platte River.Hoppe, Kathryn A(2004). The Dent Bridge is a suspension bridge in the northwest United States, located in north central Idaho in Clearwater County, north of Orofino. It is up the North Fork of the Clearwater River, now Dworshak Reservoir. Completed in 1971 at a cost of $7,848,950, it has a main span of , and an overall length of . History Built in conjunction with the Dworshak Dam by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the early 1970s, this bridge provides local access over the flooded river, now Dworshak Reservoir. Dent is a census-designated place (CDP) in Green Township, Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 12,301 at the 2020 census. History Dent was originally known as Challensville in the 19th century, named for the local minister Rev. James Challenge. A post office called Challensville was established in 1843, the name was changed to Dent in 1846 at the urging of local resident and then-state representative Charles Reemelin. Reemelin was said to have disliked naming places after people and instead thought that "Dent" represented the geography of the area, with the depression of the land just east of Harrison Pike. The Dent post office closed in 1904. The present name "Dent" is after its setting in a valley (or dent). Veterans Park was constructed in the 1990s on the former site of the Dent Drive-In. Arthur Philip Dent is a fictional character and the hapless protagonist of the comic science fiction series ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' by Douglas Adams. In the radio, LP and television versions of the story, Arthur is played by Simon Jones (not to be confused with Peter Jones, the voice of the guide). Dent London was a London manufacturer of luxury clocks and watches, founded by Edward John Dent. Dent began making watches in 1814, although the Dent triangular trade mark was not registered until 1876. A notable success for the company was winning the contract to make the clock for the new palace of Westminster, which became known as Big Ben. Chronometers Edward John Dent (1790–1853) discovered his passion for horology from his cousin, Richard Rippon, himself a master watchmaker. Dent established his own company in 1814, and developed a reputation as a builder of accurate chronometers. One of his chronometers won the First Premium Award in the 1829 Greenwich Trials.
