Denis Trottier
Denis Trottier (born June 8, 1952 in Dolbeau-Mistassini, Quebec) is a Quebec politician and teacher. He was previously a Member of National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Roberval in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, losing to Premier Philippe Couillard in the 2014 general election. He represented the Parti Québécois. Trottier went to Université Laval where he received a bachelor's degree in political science and a certificate in college education. He also did a master's degree in regional studies at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. Trottier was a lecturer at the UQAC in sociology for 23 years and a teacher at CEGEP de Saint-Félicien in political science and sociology for 18 years. He was also a member of the MRC Maria-Chapdelaine and the mayor of Péribonka from 2001 to 2005. He was also a member of the Fédération Québécoise des Municipalités. Dolbeau-Mistassini
Dolbeau-Mistassini is a town in northern Quebec, Canada, at the confluence of the Mistassibi River, Riviere aux Rats and the Mistassini River, on Lac Saint-Jean. Dolbeau-Mistassini is in the Maria-Chapdelaine Regional County Municipality and is the commercial hub of Lac-St-Jean with big stores and shopping centres. The city was formed in 1997 through the amalgamation of the cities of Dolbeau and Mistassini. Dolbeau is located on the right (west) bank of the Mistassini River, in the geographic township of Parent (not in the adjacent Dolbeau Township). The town of Mistassini is on the left (east) bank of the Mistassini River at the confluence with the Mistassibi River, directly opposite Dolbeau. 2007 Quebec General Election
The 2007 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 26, 2007 to elect members of the 38th National Assembly of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party led by Premier Jean Charest managed to win a plurality of seats, but were reduced to a minority government, Quebec's first in 129 years, since the 1878 general election.
