Demi Miller
Demi Miller is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Shana Swash. She made her first appearance on 6 September 2004 and last appearance on 7 July 2006, when she was axed by ''EastEnders'' executive producer Kate Harwood. Creation and development In August 2004, it was announced that a new family was to be introduced to ''EastEnders''. Louise Berridge, the executive producer, commented: "I'm delighted to introduce the Miller family, who will be joining Mickey on Albert Square in September, but I warn you - this lot are trouble." She added: "Even the dog is dodgy. They're set to cause havoc all over the Square, and by the end of their first week the sparks will be flying - literally." Lacey Turner also auditioned for the role of Demi before being cast as Stacey Slater, later that year. Shana Swash
Shana Frances Swash (born 16 July 1990) is a British actress from London, and the sister of actor and television presenter Joe Swash. She is best known for playing Demi Miller in the long-running BBC One soap opera ''EastEnders'' from 2004 to 2006. Acting In February 2006, it was announced that the role of Demi was to be cut, along with that of her on-screen mother Rosie. Despite an online petition from fans pleading for them not to be axed, both characters left the show in July of that year. Swash played Princess Jasmine in a pantomime version of ''Aladdin'' in the Winter of 1999, and appeared in BBC sitcom '' After You've Gone'' in an episode entitled "Silence of the Clams". Swash also starred in the 2007 UK tour of ''Girls Night'', and in one of a series of educational videos produced by Orange, in which she played a girl who uses social networking sites inadvisedly. Stacey Slater (also Branning and Fowler) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Lacey Turner. She first appears in episode 2826, originally broadcast on 1 November 2004. The character is introduced as a feisty and troublesome teenager and extension to the already established Slater family. She was created by scriptwriter Tony Jordan with Turner in mind. Producers explored the character's backstory with the introduction of her mother, Jean Slater ( Gillian Wright), who has bipolar disorder. They then paired Stacey with Bradley Branning ( Charlie Clements) and writers developed a series of problems for their marriage, including an abortion and Stacey's scandalous affair with Bradley's father, Max Branning (Jake Wood). In 2009, the character was placed in an issue-led storyline when she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder; the show worked with various charities to develop the story.
