Delyn was a districts of Wales, local government district with borough status in the United Kingdom, borough status from 1974 to 1996, being one of six districts in the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales. History The borough was created on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972. It covered the area of four former districts from the administrative county of Flintshire (historic), Flintshire, which were all abolished at the same time: *Flint, Flintshire, Flint Municipal Borough *Holywell, Flintshire, Holywell Urban district (Great Britain and Ireland), Urban District *Holywell Rural District *Mold, Flintshire, Mold Urban District The name "Delyn" was formed by combining the names of the area's principal rivers: the Dee and the Alyn. The neighbouring district was originally named Alyn and Deeside (district), Alyn-Dee for the same reason. Delyn (Senedd Constituency)
Delyn is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole. Boundaries The constituency was created for the first election to the Assembly, in 1999, with the name and boundaries of the Delyn Westminster constituency. It is entirely within the preserved county of Clwyd. As created in 1999, the North Wales region included the constituencies of Alyn and Deeside, Caernarfon, Clwyd West, Clwyd South, Conwy, Delyn, Vale of Clwyd, Wrexham and Ynys Môn. From the 2007 election the region included Aberconwy, Alyn and Deeside, Arfon, Clwyd South, Clwyd West, Delyn, Vale of Clwyd, Wrexham and Ynys Môn. Ezhimala (hill, Kannur)
Ezhimala, a hill reaching a height of , is located near Payyanur, in Kannur District, Kannur district of Kerala, South India. It is a part of a conspicuous and isolated cluster of hills, forming a promontory, north of Kannur (Cannanore). The Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala is Asia's largest, and the world's third-largest, naval academy. As the former capital of the ancient Kolathunadu Kingdom of the Mushikas, Ezhimala is considered to be an important historical site. A flourishing seaport and center of trade around the beginning of the Common Era, it was also one of the major battlefields of the Chola Dynasty, Chola-Chera dynasty, Chera Wars in the 11th century. It is believed by some that Buddha had visited Ezhimala.
