Delmi Álvarez
Delmi Álvarez is a Galician photojournalist and documentary photographer. His work documents migration phenomena, especially of the Galician diaspora, and environmental and human rights issues. He has organized and curated several photography projects with other international photographers. Photography career Álvarez is a self-taught photojournalist and documentary photographer. He has travelled widely documenting migratory phenomena such as refugee crises and the Galician diaspora. He also documents environmental and human rights issues. Cristina De Middel
Cristina de Middel (born 1975) is a Spanish-Belgian documentary photographer and artist living and working in Uruapan, Mexico. She is a full member of Magnum Photos and her work is held in the Tate collection. Early life and education De Middel was born in Alicante, Spain. She is half-Belgian, half-Spanish. She graduated with a M.A. in Photography from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma, USA in 2000; with a M.A. in Fine Arts from the Technical University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain in 2001; and with a Postgraduate Degree in Photojournalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain in 2002. The Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art (, abbreviated MARCO) is an art museum in Vigo, ( province of Pontevedra), Spain. It displays changing exhibitions of contemporary art, but has no permanent collection. History The building dates from the 19th century, originally having been built as a public prison. Following a request for a new prison, the Ministry allowed the construction of the building, on May 16, 1861. This project was carried out by the architect José María Ortiz y Sánchez. The building, which was supposed to be a simple jail but eventually became a courthouse with courts, prisons and a small shelter for the guards, was completed in 1880. A century later, the city council considered demolishing the building to create a leafy square in its place, but after a strong rejection of this new project by the architect Alvaro Siza Vieira and Javier Sainz de Oinza and the History Professor From Madrid High School, Pedro Navascués Palacio, this idea was abandoned. Hambach Forest
Hambach Forest () is an ancient forest located near in North Rhine-Westphalia, western Germany, between Cologne and Aachen. It was planned to be cleared as part of the Hambach surface mine by owner RWE AG. There were protests and occupations from 2012 against this, and in 2020 a law was passed to preserve it. The forest Hambach Forest is rich in biodiversity and home to 142 species regarded as important for conservation. The forest has been called ''"the last remnant of a sylvan ecosystem that has occupied this part of the Rhine River plain between Aachen and Cologne since the end of the last ice age"''. Only ten percent of Hambach Forest still remains, and the remaining forest is severely threatened by mining for brown coal. Himba People
The Himba (singular: OmuHimba, plural: OvaHimba) are an ethnic group with an estimated population of about 50,000 people living in northern Namibia, in the Kunene Region (formerly Kaokoland) and on the other side of the Kunene River in southern Angola. There are also a few groups left of the OvaTwa, who the OvaHimba consider to be part of their tribe, but are hunter-gatherers. Culturally distinguishable from the Herero people, the OvaHimba are a semi-nomadic, pastoralist people and speak OtjiHimba, a variety of Herero, which belongs to the Bantu family within Niger–Congo.
