Delhi, Andaman And Nicobar Islands Police Service
The Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Police) Services, abbreviated as DANIPS, formerly called the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service, is the police service of the Union Territories of India. It is part of the Central Civil Services (CCS). Candidates are recruited directly through the Civil Services Examination. The selected Group B officers are responsible for the law and order and policing functions of Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. They form a feeder cadre of the Indian Police Service. Selection DANIPS officers are recruited directly through the rigorous Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year.
