Dejan Židan
Dejan Židan () (born 16 October 1967) is a Slovenian politician, former leader of the Social Democrats (Slovenia), Social Democrats, and the former speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia. A veterinarian by education, Židan served as minister of agriculture, forestry, and nutrition from 2010 in 2012 in Borut Pahor's government. In the 2014 Slovenian parliamentary election, 2011 parliamentary election, Židan was elected a member of the National Assembly. In 2013, Židan became minister of agriculture and the environment in Alenka Bratušek's government. In March 2014, Židan was named the most popular Slovenian politician in a public opinion poll. Following the 2014 European Parliament election in Slovenia, European Parliament election, Židan replaced Igor Lukšič as acting president of the Social Democrats (Slovenia), Social Democrats. Igor Lukšič
Igor Lukšič (born 3 December 1961) is a Slovenian political scientist, politician and was president of the Slovenian Social Democrats (June 2012 – May 2014). Between November 2008 and February 2012, he served as minister of education in the center-left government of Borut Pahor. Lukšič was born in Novo Mesto in the People's Republic of Slovenia, then part of FPR Yugoslavia. He started his academic career as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana in 1986 and obtained his PhD at the University of Ljubljana in 1993. Subsequently, he became an assistant professor and later, in 1998, an associate professor. In 1999, he was named vice-dean and in 2001, dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana. Between 2008 and 2011, he worked as the minister of education and sport. Tanja Fajon (born 9 May 1971) is a Slovenian politician, former leader of Social Democrats, part of the Party of European Socialists and former Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Slovenia. She has been serving as the minister of foreign and european affairs in the government of Prime Minister Robert Golob since 1 June 2022. She is a head of the Slovenian delegation within the political group of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
