Death Of Nicky Verstappen
On the morning of 10 August 1998, 11-year-old Nicky Verstappen disappeared from a summer camp he was attending in Brunssum, Limburg. His body was found on the evening of 11 August, away in Landgraaf, and a murder investigation was subsequently launched. Despite extensive investigation, the case remained unsolved for over twenty years. Joseph Theresia Johannes "Jos" Brech (born 29 October 1962) stood trial for the killing of Verstappen in 2020. He was arrested on 26 August 2018 in Spain after DNA from his belongings and relatives matched samples taken from Verstappen's clothing, following the largest DNA-harvesting operation in Dutch history. On 20 November 2020, Brech was acquitted of manslaughter, but found guilty of the kidnapping and sexual abuse that led to Verstappen's death, as well as of possession of child pornography. Martin Ney
Martin Ney (born 12 December 1970) is a convicted German serial killer and sex offender. Between 1992 and 2004, Ney murdered three German boys and has been linked to the sexual abuse of 45 others. Ney wore a mask and dark clothing when committing the crimes, leading him to be known as the Masked Man or the Black Man. He carried out his offences in camps, private homes and school grounds. After his arrest on 15 April 2011, Ney confessed to the murders of Dennis Klein, Stefan Jahr and Dennis Rostel. On 27 February 2012, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Stade district court for three murders and 20 cases of sexual assaults. The particular severity of Ney's crimes was noted by the court. Ney was also suspected of the murders of Jonathan Coulom in western France and Nicky Verstappen in the Netherlands. Killing Of Nicole Van Den Hurk
15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk () disappeared on 6 October 1995 in Eindhoven (the Dutch province of North Brabant), the Netherlands. Her body was found in the woods between Mierlo and Lierop on 22 November. Van den Hurk's stepbrother confessed to the killing and was arrested in 2011, but released five days later due to a lack of evidence. He later claimed to have falsely confessed so that her body would be exhumed for DNA tests. In January 2014, DNA collected from van den Hurk's remains and the crime scene led to the arrest of a man who had been convicted in other cases with the same modus operandi. Rowwen Hèze is a band from the small village of America in the province of Limburg, the Netherlands. They are one of the biggest bands singing in Limburgish. The band was founded in 1985. Music Rowwen Hèze's music is inspired by many different genres of music, including folk, fanfare and tex-mex. Rowwen Hèze draws a lot of inspiration from the songs of The Pogues, as well as from Los Lobos. Lyrically the band is influenced by every day items like a hangover, the local Fanfare, fatherhood, walking with the dog or songs about a local figure.
