DeMarco–Becket Memorial Trophy
The DeMarco–Becket Memorial Trophy is a Canadian Football League trophy. It is awarded originally to the player selected as the outstanding lineman in the Canadian Football League West Division, West Division. The trophy was donated by the families of Mel Becket and Mario DeMarco, who were two prominent Saskatchewan Roughriders players who were victims of the Mount Slesse Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 810, aircraft disaster on December 9, 1956. Since 1974 this trophy has been awarded to the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in the West Division. Either the winner of this trophy or the winner of the Leo Dandurand Trophy will also receive the Canadian Football League Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award. Jovan Olafioye (born December 16, 1987) is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman. He signed with the BC Lions as a free agent, after going undrafted in the 2009 NFL draft. Jovan attended the 2009 Detroit Lions rookie mini camp. He played junior college football at Grand Rapids Community College for a year before attending North Carolina Central University. Derek Dennis (born July 16, 1988) is an American former professional football offensive lineman who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Temple. He was a member of the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Arizona Rattlers, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, Calgary Stampeders, Saskatchewan Roughriders, New York Guardians, and Edmonton Elks.
