David Stone (keyboardist)
David Stone (born Michael David Stoyanoff on March 20, 1953) is a Canadian keyboard player best known for playing with Rainbow. He later joined Max Webster for their album ''Universal Juveniles''. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Stone worked on the Bud Matton Agency tour circuit and played in the band Symphonic Slam, whose self-titled and only album released in 1976 went gold in Japan. He then joined Rainbow, and was voted the fifth best keyboardist in the world in the Japanese magazine Music Life in January 1978. After performing on Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, he returned to Canada and played with Max Webster and singer B. B. Gabor. In 1991, Stone played on a demo by US prog metal band Vision. Stone also played on the hard rock/prog metal band AraPacis' 2019 album ''Paradox of Denial'' and joined the band in September 2019. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll
''Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'' is the third studio album by the British heavy metal band Rainbow, released on 14 April 1978 and the last to feature original lead vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Background Recording of the album commenced in April 1977, at a studio in Château d'Hérouville, France, featuring Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio and Cozy Powell. Keyboards were initially played on a session basis by former Rainbow keyboardist Tony Carey, while bass guitar was initially played by Mark Clarke. Clarke was soon dismissed, however, and the bass guitar was recorded by Blackmore himself. By July 1977 seven tracks that ended on the album were in demo form. Recording was suspended, while the band recruited bassist Bob Daisley and keyboardist David Stone and thereafter commenced extensive touring of Europe in the summer and autumn of 1977. ''Live in Munich 1977'' is a live album and DVD released by the British hard rock band Rainbow in 2006. The concert was recorded in Munich on 20 October 1977, originally filmed to air on the German '' Rockpalast'' TV show. Repeated airings have led to numerous bootleg video and audio tapes of the show being available through the 1980s and '90s. The set is not from the same tour that produced the previously released live album ''On Stage'' (which was mostly culled from their 1976 Japanese tour), but from their 1977 European tour, a few months prior to the release of ''Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'', with a different keyboardist. Universal Juveniles
''Universal Juveniles'' was Max Webster's fifth and last studio album, released in 1980 in Canada by Anthem Records. It was released internationally on the Mercury Records label outside of Canada. The album was produced by Jack Richardson who was best known for producing The Guess Who's biggest hit records. It features a guest appearance by friends and fellow Canadian rockers Rush on the song "Battle Scar", recorded live in studio on July 28, 1980. It is also the only Max Webster album to not feature Terry Watkinson as a member, though he makes a guest appearance on "Battle Scar".
