David Millard
David R. Millard (born February 10, 1953) is an American Republican Party (United States), Republican politician who served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 109, 109th legislative district. He was elected in a special election on January 27, 2004, to fill the unexpired term of John Gordner, who was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate. Early life and education A native of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Millard graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1971. Millard's mother suffered a series of strokes before he was born. When he was 15, she died. Afterward, Millard's father worked multiple jobs to support David and his five elder siblings. After taking classes at night, Millard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in office administration from Bloomsburg University in 1988. The Bloomsburg Fair has been held in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, since 1855 and continues to this day. History It was originally held as an agricultural exhibition located on the lower end of Second Street, which is now Main Street. Since then it has grown to be the largest fair in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Bloomsburg Fair was started by Caleb Barton in 1854. The 156th Bloomsburg Fair was held from September 25 to October 2, 2010. In 2006, fair attendance for the week reached 413,203 people. The 157th Fair was scheduled to be held from September 24, 2011, to October 1, 2011, but was canceled due to flooding associated with Tropical Storm Lee. John R. Gordner (born January 5, 1962) is an American attorney and politician. A Republican, he represented the 27th District in the Pennsylvania State Senate (2003–2022) and the 109th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1993–2003). He is a former Democrat, having switched parties in 2001. Early life and education Gordner was born on January 5, 1962, in Berwick, Pennsylvania, the son of Carl L. and Shirley Gordner.
