David Coote (cricketer)
David Edward Coote (born 8 April 1955) is a former English cricketer. Coote was a left-handed batsman. He was born at Winkburn, Nottinghamshire. Career Coote made a single first-class appearance for Nottinghamshire against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge in the 1977 County Championship. In a match which Yorkshire won by 5 wickets, he batted once, scoring 20 runs in Nottinghamshire's first-innings, before being dismissed by Phil Carrick. In that same season he also made a single List A appearance against Gloucestershire in the John Player League at Trent Bridge. He scored 13 runs in Nottinghamshire's innings, before being dismissed by Mike Procter, with Gloucestershire winning the match by 13 runs. He continued to appear for the Nottinghamshire Second XI after 1977, playing Second XI cricket until 1982. Coote played club cricket in the Nottinghamshire Premier League for Collingham until 2005. Mike Procter
Michael John Procter (15 September 1946 – 17 February 2024) was a South African cricketer, whose involvement in international cricket was limited by South Africa's banishment from world cricket in the 1970s and 1980s. A fast bowler and hard-hitting batsman, he was regarded as one of South African cricket's top allrounders. Procter began his career mainly as a menacing fast bowler, who famously "bowled off the wrong foot", and became well known in the cricketing fraternity for his chest-on action and for his ability to release the ball early in his delivery stride. David Harry Coote (born 11 July 1982) is an English former football referee. His county FA is the Nottinghamshire Football Association. He belonged to the Select Group of Referees in England and officiated primarily in the Premier League before his dismissal in December 2024. Early life David Harry Coote was born on 11 July 1982 in Nottingham. Career Coote started refereeing as a sixteen-year-old. He refereed in the Notts Alliance League, the Northern Counties East Football League, the Northern Premier League and the Conference North before being promoted to the Football League list of referees as an assistant referee.
