Daveyton
Daveyton is a township (South Africa), township in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality of Gauteng in South Africa. It borders Etwatwa to the north-east, Springs, Gauteng, Springs to the south and Benoni, Gauteng, Benoni to the south-west. The nearest town is Benoni, which is approximately 18 kilometres away. Daveyton was established in 1952, and named after William Albert Davey, the Mayor of Benoni from 1951 to 1953.Who's Who of Southern Africa, including Mauritius, 1976. Pollen Ndlanya
Pollen Ndlanya (born 22 May 1970 in Daveyton) is a retired South African footballer who played as a striker. He played for Kaizer Chiefs, Manning Rangers, Bursaspor, Göztepe, Amazulu and Orlando Pirates. He also played for South Africa national football team at the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup. Career Kaizer Chiefs After training with Chiefs for two hours, Jeff Butler recommended that Ndlanya should be signed. He was spotted by Ryder Mofokeng at the Toyota U21 Championship in the Daveyton Highlanders vs Kaizer Chiefs match in 1991. He scored a header on debut against Pretoria Callies. Sandile Fortune Msimango, popularly known by his stage name Young Stunna is a South African Amapiano singer. He is known for his hit singles "Bopha" and "Adiwele". He has also extensively worked with record producers DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. Stunna's debut studio album ''Notumato'' (2021), reached number 1 in South Africa. Benoni, Gauteng
Benoni is a town on the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa, some east of Johannesburg, within the City of Ekurhuleni municipality. Benoni was also the setting for the MTV-inspired movie ''Crazy Monkey: Straight Outta Benoni'', released internationally in 2005. Lebohang Precious Mathosa (17 July 1977– 23 October 2006) was a South African kwaito singer. Mathosa started her career as a founding member of the popular South African band Boom Shaka in 1994 at the age of 17, after she caught the eye of music producer Don Laka at a club in Johannesburg. She was well known for her dyed blonde hair, her live shows, her hoarse voice, her constant reinvention, her energetic dance moves and outrageous stage outfits, and was openly bisexual. Springs, Gauteng
Springs is a former independent city that is now part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, City of Ekurhuleni, based in the east of Johannesburg (East Rand), in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It lies east of Johannesburg and southeast from Pretoria. Its name derives from the large number of spring (hydrosphere), springs in the area, and its estimated population is more than 121,610 in 2011. It is situated at above sea level. During the apartheid-era, the city was racially segregated under the Group Areas Act. These consisted of middle and upper-income white suburbs around the city centre and the Indian area of Bakerton east of the CBD. South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone. Solar noon in this time zone occurs at 30° E in SAST, effectively making Pietermaritzburg at the correct solar noon point, with Johannesburg and Pretoria slightly west at 28° E and Durban slightly east at 31° E.
