Dave Peterson Goalie Of The Year Award
The Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year Award is presented annually by USA Hockey (the governing body for amateur ice hockey in the United States) to the best American goaltender in junior ice hockey. It is USA Hockey's top award for the position of goaltender. The award is named for Dave Peterson, former director of coaching and player development for USA Hockey and coach of the United States men's national ice hockey team. USA Hockey
USA Hockey is a national ice hockey organization in the United States. It is recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee as the governing body for organized ice hockey in the United States and is a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Before June 1991, the organization was known as the Amateur Hockey Association of the United States (AHAUS). The organization is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Its mission is to promote the growth of ice hockey in the U.S. USA Hockey programs support and develop players, coaches, officials, and facilities. Mike Lee (ice Hockey, Born 1990)
Michael Lee (born October 5, 1990) is a retired American professional ice hockey goaltender who was primarily known for playing with the Portland Pirates in the AHL and the Gwinnett Gladiators in the ECHL while developing as a prospect in the Arizona Coyotes organization. He was selected 91st overall in the third round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes. Although born in Fargo, North Dakota, Lee was raised in Roseau, Minnesota. He now serves as an Assistant Coach at St. Cloud State University. Playing career Before beginning his collegiate career at St. Cloud State University, Lee was the starting goaltender for the Fargo Force during the 2008–09 season in the United States Hockey League (USHL). Tri-City Storm
The Tri-City Storm is a Tier I junior ice hockey team based in Kearney, Nebraska, that plays in the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL). Its name refers to the three central Nebraskan cities of Kearney, Hastings, and Grand Island. History Founding under Ted Baer On May 15, 1999, the USHL unanimously voted to allow then Omaha Lancers' owner, Ted Baer, to place a new team in Kearney, Nebraska, for the 2000–01 season. In June 1999, Jim Hillman was named the team's first head coach. The Tri-City Storm won its first game on September 30, 2000. The Storm finally played its first home game on November 18, 2000, after eight months of construction on the Tri-City Arena. Isaiah Saville
Isaiah Saville (born September 21, 2000) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League (AHL). Saville was selected 135th overall in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL entry draft by the Vegas Golden Knights, playing parts of three seasons in their organization. He previously played junior in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Minnesota Magicians and the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Tri-City Storm, as well as NCAA collegiate hockey with the Omaha Mavericks. Dubuque Fighting Saints
The Dubuque Fighting Saints are a Tier I junior ice hockey team playing in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and are based in the city of Dubuque, Iowa, on the banks of the Mississippi River at the intersection of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Home games are played at the ImOn Arena (capacity: 3,079). History Re-establishment of the Fighting Saints and early success The original Dubuque Fighting Saints played at the multi-purpose Dubuque Five Flags Center arena situated in downtown Dubuque from 1980 to 2001. Hunter Miska (born July 7, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing with Bridgeport Islanders in the American Hockey League (AHL). He has formerly played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche. Playing career Amateur Undrafted, Miska played junior hockey in the United States Hockey League and British Columbia Hockey League before embarking on collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota at Duluth in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. The Muskegon Lumberjacks are a Tier I junior ice hockey team in the Eastern Conference of the United States Hockey League. They play in Muskegon, Michigan, at Trinity Health Arena. The Waterloo Black Hawks are a Tier I junior ice hockey team playing in the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL) under Head Coach Matt Smaby. The Black Hawks' home ice is the Young Arena in Waterloo, Iowa. History Early history The Waterloo Black Hawks began as a semi-professional senior team in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 1962. Cal Petersen
Calvin Louis Petersen (born October 19, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the fifth round, 129th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2013 NHL entry draft. On July 1, 2017, he signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent. Prior to turning professional, Petersen played college ice hockey for the University of Notre Dame. He set an NCAA Division I record of 87 saves during the longest collegiate ice hockey game ever. Sioux Falls Stampede
The Sioux Falls Stampede are a Tier I junior ice hockey team based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Stampede are members of the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL). Charlie Lindgren (born December 18, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Originally undrafted by teams in the NHL, Lindgren has also previously played for the Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues. The Green Bay Gamblers are a Tier I junior ice hockey team in the Eastern Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL). They play in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, at the Resch Center.
