Dervish
Dervish, Darvesh, or Darwīsh (from ) in Islam can refer broadly to members of a Sufi fraternity (''tariqah''), or more narrowly to a religious mendicant, who chose or accepted material poverty. The latter usage is found particularly in Persian and Turkish (''derviş'') as well as in Tamazight (''Aderwic''), corresponding to the Arabic term '' faqīr''. Their focus is on the universal values of love and service, deserting the illusions of ego (''nafs'') to reach God. In most Sufi orders, a dervish is known to practice ''dhikr'' through physical exertions or religious practices to attain the ecstatic trance to reach God. Darvish Fakhr
Darvish Fakhr (born 1969) is an Iranian American artist born in Newfoundland. He is an artist in the field of Iranian portrait paintings. Biography Born in 1969, Fakhr grew up in the U.S. before moving to Britain where his practice has been based for the last two decades. Fakhr trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Slade School of Fine Art in London. In 2004 he won the BP Travel Award and used the opportunity to go to Iran and paint local people in Tehran and Isfahan. Fakhr's paintings show the depths of emotion behind outwardly ritualised lives and aim to help us understand the common humanity that links the Western world and the Middle East. He explores the relationship between shared memory and the passage of time, looking both to the past and the future. He currently lives in Brighton, Sussex. Darvish Khan
Darvish Khan (, Gholam Hossein Darvish; 1872 – 22 November 1926) was a Persian classical musician and a tar player.http://www.hamshahrionline.ir/news.aspx?id=44944 Biography Darvish Khan was born in Tehran. His teachers included his father and Aqa Hossein-Qoli Farahani. He was a member of the Aziz Soltan music group. Later, he attended the Dar ol-Fonoon Music School. He played a concert at the Grand Hotel of Tehran with other great masters of Persian music of his time, including Aref Qazvini. Darvish left for London and Tbilisi to record. He died at the age of 54, on 22 November 1926, in an accident. His carriage was hit by a lorry automobile which was very rare at that time. It is said that he was the first Iranian to be killed in a car accident. Darvish Mohammad Khan
Darvish Mohammad Khan was the Khan of Sheki (1524-1551). He ascended the throne after his father's assassination in May of the year 1524. In 1538, he helped Shahrukh of Shirvan against the Safavids but without success so he retreated back to Shaki. The next year he married Pari Khan Khanum, daughter of the Safavid Shah Tahmasp I. He sent his son Bagi beg as a hostage to the Safavid court. In 1551 Tahmasp I started an invasion of Shaki along with the Georgian king Levan of Kakheti. The result of the massive invasion was the death of Darvish Mohammad Khan and the devastation of the castles Galarsan-Gorarsan and Kish. Shaki was given to Toygun beg Qajar. Khan's son Bagi beg was held as prisoner in Shah Tahmasp I's court. Amir Darvish is an American actor who is best known for his portrayal of rock icon Freddie Mercury in the Off Broadway 1997 play '' Mercury: The Afterlife and Times of a Rock God''. Golden Bomber
is a Japanese visual kei "air" rock band formed in 2004 and signed to the independent label Euclid Agency (sublabel ''Zany Zap''). Despite not actually performing the instruments themselves during concerts, they have gained popularity through their theatrical "live shows". History The band was formed in 2004 by vocalist Shō Kiryūin and guitarist Yutaka Kyan. The band's concept was "Hyper Giga Hybrid Super Subculture Visual Rock". Teppei Chimatsuri joined as the first drummer and keyboardist; when he left later, Dankichi Tenkujō took over as drummer. Jun Utahiroba joined as bassist on 22 April 2007. On 5 April 2009, Dankichi left the band, and on 10 April 2009, Kenji Darvish joined as a drummer. None of the members except Shō Kiryūin play instruments for the band.
