Daria Pikulik (born 6 January 1997) is a Polish professional road and Track cycling, track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team, UCI Women's WorldTeam . She won a silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games and a bronze medal at the 2020 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, 2020 Cycling World Championships. She also rode in the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's team pursuit, women's team pursuit at the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Her sister, Wiktoria Pikulik, Wiktoria, is also a professional cyclist. Skarżysko-Kamienna () is a city in northern Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in south-central Poland by Kamienna (river), Kamienna river, to the north of Świętokrzyskie Mountains; one of the voivodship's major cities. Prior to 1928, it bore the name of ''Kamienna''; in less formal contexts usually only the first part of the name (''Skarżysko'') is used. It belongs to historic Polish province of Lesser Poland. 2021 UEC European Track Championships was the twelfth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Tissot Velodrome in Grenchen, Switzerland, from 5 to 9 October 2021. Originally it was supposed to be held in Minsk, Belarus, between 23 and 27 June 2021 as an elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling On 27 May 2021 the Management Board of the European Cycling Union decided to cancel the 2021 Elite Track European Championships scheduled in Minsk in June 2021. On 1 June, it was announced that the championships would go ahead in the second week of October 2021. 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships
The 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships were the World Championships for track cycling in 2016. They took place in London in the Lee Valley VeloPark from 2–6 March 2016. As the last major track cycling event prior to the 2016 Summer Olympics, the championships were particularly important for cyclists and national teams aiming to qualify for the Cycling at the 2016 Summer Olympics, track cycling competitions at Rio 2016. Hosts Great Britain finished top of the medals table with five gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Preparations Tickets prices for the 12 different sessions ranged between £15 and £90, with student and over 60s discounts available. Higher priced tickets were tickets with better seating locations, afternoon (final) sessions and the sessions at the weekend. A UCI Women's Team is a women's road bicycle team sanctioned by the International Cycling Union ( UCI). These teams compete in the major women's bicycle races including the UCI Women's World Tour. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a Cycle sport, bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250 m track. One appeal of indoor track racing was that spectators could be easily controlled, and hence an entrance fee could be charged, making track racing a lucrative sport. Early track races attracted crowds of up to 2,000 people. Indoor tracks also enabled year-round cycling for the first time.
