''Darfur Now'' is a 2007 American documentary film examining the genocide in Darfur. It was written and directed by Ted Braun and produced by Don Cheadle, Mark Jonathan Harris, and Cathy Schulman. Executive producers included Jeffrey Skoll, Omar Amanat, Dean Schramm, Diane Weyermann, and Matt Palmieri. The film is a call to action for people all over the world to help the ongoing crisis in Darfur. ''Darfur Now'' premiered at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was released in the United States and Canada on November 2, 2007. Summary ''Darfur Now'' follows the story of six individuals, who are tied together by the same cause: the crisis in Darfur. Ted Braun
Theodore Braun is an American filmmaker best known for his feature documentaries ''Darfur Now'' (2007), '' Betting on Zero'' (2017), and ''¡Viva Maestro!'' (2022). He works in non-fiction across documentary and scripted forms with a focus on global conflict. He has won the International Documentary Association's Emerging Filmmaker Award, an NAACP Image Award for Best Feature Documentary and been nominated twice for the WGA Award for Best Feature Documentary Screenplay. He is also a professor in the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts' Writing Division. where he is the inaugural holder of the Joseph Campbell Endowed Chair in Cinematic Ethics. Early life Braun was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and grew up in Charlotte, Vermont.
