Darcy C. Coyle
Darcy Crenshaw Coyle (October 26, 1918 - September 8, 2002) was an American professor and academic administrator, who served as the president of Nichols College from 1973 to 1978 and Upper Iowa University from 1978 to 1984. Career Born to Delphus C. and Stella Vivian, Coyle graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1936, and soon went on to join the United States Navy and its Naval Academy. He participated in World War II, and spent time aboard the aircraft carriers USS Ranger (CV-4) and USS Randolph (CV-15). Coyle would resign from the level of Lieutenant Commander in 1946. Coyle continued his education by receiving a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University in 1948, and then a Doctor of Business Administration in 1962. His dissertation was titled "Mechanization: Work Measurement and Manpower Utilization." Trigg County
Trigg County is a county located on the far southwest border of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,061. Its county seat is Cadiz. Formed in 1820, the county was named for Stephen Trigg, an officer in the American Revolutionary War who was killed at the Battle of Blue Licks, now in Robertson County, Kentucky. It was a victory for British and allied troops. Following the Prohibition era, Trigg continued as a prohibition or dry county until 2009. That year the county's voters narrowly approved a referendum to repeal the prohibition on alcohol sales for off-premises consumption. Trigg County is part of the Clarksville, TN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lieutenant commander (LCDR) is a senior officer rank in the United States Navy, the United States Coast Guard, the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps (NOAA Corps), with the pay grade of O-4 and NATO rank code OF-3. Lieutenant commander ranks above lieutenant and below commander. The rank is also used in the United States Maritime Service . The rank is equivalent to a major in the United States Army, United States Air Force, United States Marine Corps, and United States Space Force. When introducing a lieutenant commander, their full rank should always be used; however, in general conversation they are usually called "commander" even though they are not "full" commanders (which is one rank higher).
