Daniel Luis Sáez
Daniel Eduardo Luis Sáez (born 11 May 1994), known as Daniel Luis, is a Cuban footballer. Club career A tall central midfielder, Luis has played primarily for his hometown team La Habana, except for a stint at Camagüey in 2017. On 9 March 2022, Lios signed with USL Championship side Rio Grande Valley FC. International career Luis played in three games at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, but had made his senior international debut for Cuba already in an October 2012 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Panama when he came on as a very late substitute for Ariel Martinez. He has, as of January 2018, earned a total of 12 caps, scoring 1 goal. Luis took part in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament in Antigua and Barbuda. Cuba National Football Team
The Cuba national football team () represents Cuba in men's international football, and is controlled by the Asociación de Fútbol de Cuba (), which is a member of FIFA since 1932 and was a founding member of CONCACAF since 1961. It was also affiliated with NAFC (1946–1955) and later with CCCF (1955–1961), which was the two predecessor confederations of CONCACAF. It was also a member of PFC, the attempt at a unified confederation of the Americas. Nicknamed ''Los Leones del Caribe'' (). They were the first Caribbean team to get to the World Cup Quarter finals – they did so in 1938. There, in the round of 16, they defeated Romania in a replay, 2–1, after drawing against them 3–3. 2017 Caribbean Cup Qualification
The 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification began in March 2016. The qualification competition determined which Caribbean national teams would play in the 2017 Caribbean Cup and the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Participants 25 teams from the 31 CFU members entered the qualification tournament. Sint Maarten participated for the first time since 1997. Draw Twenty five nations were involved in the draw, which took place on 16 January 2016, 21:00 AST ( UTC−4), at the Jolly Beach Resort & Spa resort in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Four teams were given a bye due to their involvement in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification – CONCACAF fourth round. Estadio Nacional de Fútbol Pedro Marrero is a multi-purpose stadium in Havana, Cuba. Built as a baseball stadium, it is now used primarily for football matches, and is the former home of CF Ciudad de La Habana. The stadium holds 30,000 and was built in 1929. Originally named Gran Stadium Cervecería Tropical (or familiarly, La Tropical), it hosted the 1930 Central American and Caribbean Games, the 1937 Bacardi Bowl and many Cuban League baseball games. 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the 15th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the biennial international men's association football, soccer championship of the North, Central American, and Caribbean region organized by CONCACAF.
