Daniel Hernández (tennis)
Daniel Hernández was a Mexican tennis player active in the 1930s. Between 1935 and 1939, Hernández appeared in six Davis Cup ties for Mexico. He competed twice against top American player Don Budge and won his only two singles rubbers in his debut tie against Cuba. Hernández was a men's doubles gold medalist at the 1938 Central American and Caribbean Games in Panama City, partnering Esteban Reyes. He also won a bronze medal for Mexico in the mixed doubles. Central American And Caribbean Games
The Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC or CACGs) are a multi-sport regional championship event, held quadrennial (once every four years), typically in the middle (even) year between Summer Olympics. The games are for 32 countries and five territories in Central America, the Caribbean ( Caribbean Countries), Mexico, and the South American Caribbean countries of Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. The games are overseen by Centro Caribe Sports (''formerly CACSO''). 1938 Central American And Caribbean Games
The fourth Central American and Caribbean Games were held in Panama City, the capital city of Panama at Estadio Juan Demóstenes Arosemena, Estadio Olímpico Nacional. These games were held 3 years after the last games, this was to get the games back to the year they should have been, after a 5-year break on the previous games. The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is organised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and contested annually between teams from over 150 competing countries, making it the world's largest annual team sporting competition. Don Budge
John Donald Budge (June 13, 1915 – January 26, 2000) was an American tennis player. He is most famous as the first tennis player — male or female — to win all four Grand Slam tournaments in one year and complete the Grand Slam. Budge was the second man to complete the career Grand Slam, after Fred Perry. He won ten majors, of which six were Grand Slam events (consecutively, a men's record) and four Pro Slams, the latter achieved on three different surfaces. Budge is considered to have one of the best backhands in the history of tennis, with most observers rating it better than that of later player Ken Rosewall.
