Daniel Fernández Crespo
Daniel Fernández Crespo(28 April 1901 – 28 July 1964) was a Uruguayan political figure. Background and early career A political reformer, Fernández Crespo belonged to the National Party, and entered politics in the early 1930s. Formerly a schoolteacher, by the time he assumed Presidential office he had achieved a reputation as a prolific sponsor of reformist legislation, including unemployment insurance and labor exchanges in the meat processing industry, equal salary for women and men in the same job, guarantees for the employee or worker who contracts a marriage or is a mother, special retirement for workers working in unhealthy environments that produce premature occupational diseases, Agrarian Cooperatives, Agrarian Reform, and participation of workers in the profits of the companies. Faustino Harrison
Faustino Harrison Usoz (21 May 1900, Chamangá, Flores Department – 20 August 1963, Montevideo) was a Uruguayan politician. Career President of the National Council of Government Harrison was elected to the ruling nine-member National Council of Government in 1959. A member of the ''ruralista'' faction of the National Party loyal to Benito Nardone, he proposed a more ambitious Ministry of Economy that would take greater responsibility for economic planning – an idea that would not come to fruition. From 1 March 1962 he served a one year term as President of the National Council, as the National Council officials rotated the chairmanship among themselves during their periods in office. Death Harrison died of a heart attack on 20 August 1963 in Montevideo, a few months after completing his presidential term. Luis Giannattasio Finocchietti (19 November 1894 – 7 February 1965) was a Uruguayan political figure. Background Giannattasio was an engineer by profession and a leading member of the Uruguayan Blanco (National) Party. From 1959 to 1963, he served as Minister of Public Works. In this capacity, Giannattasio was particularly identified with a significant road-building program.
