Dalarnas Fotbollförbund
The Dalarnas Fotbollförbund ''(Dalarna Football Association)'' is one of the 24 district organisations of the Swedish Football Association. It administers lower tier football in the historical province of Dalarna. Background Dalarnas Fotbollförbund, commonly referred to as Dalarnas FF, was founded on 17 April 1921 and is the governing body for football in the historical province of Dalarna, which corresponds with modern day Dalarna County. The Association currently has 91 member clubs. Based in Falun, the Association's Chairman is Lars Norman. Falun
Falun () is a city and the seat of Falun Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 37,291 inhabitants in 2010. It is also the capital of Dalarna County. Falun forms, together with Borlänge, a metropolitan area with just over 100,000 inhabitants. Falun was originally famous for its copper mine, and is today an important service and industrial city even though the mine is closed (since 1992). Faluån is a river, flowing through the city, separating it into two sides. Falu copper mine is located on one of the sides which during many centuries was one of Sweden's main business. This side of the river was usually called "the mining side", where not many plants grew due to the toxic smoke which contaminated the soil. On the other side of the river, where the smoke did not reach, set many large villas, which made this side to be called "the delightful side". Islingby IK is a Swedish football club located in Borlänge. Background Islingby IK currently plays in Division 4 Dalarna which is the sixth tier of Swedish football. Swedish Football Division 7
Division 7 is the ninth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 47 sections with 9 to 12 football teams in each. The competition There are 47 groups of 10 to 12 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. The top team in each Division 7 group is promoted to Division 6 and the second placed teams may also be promoted or participate in the promotion/relegation play-offs. If there are divisions covering tier 10 the bottom two teams in the Division 7 group are relegated to Division 8. Division 6 (Amateur league) is the eighth (due to sponsorship reason) level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 78 sections with 5 to 12 football teams in each. The competition There are 100 groups of 15 to 17 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. The top team in each Division 6 group is promoted to Division 5. The bottom two teams in each Division 6 group are normally relegated to Division 7. The top team in each Division 4 group is promoted to Division 3 and the three lowest placed teams from each Division 3 league are relegated in their place.
