Daire Ó Baoill
Daire Ó Baoill (born 1996/7) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and former association footballer who plays for Gaoth Dobhair and the Donegal county team. Ó Baoill previously played association football with the under-19 team of League of Ireland side Finn Harps. He works in Teach Mhicí, a pub owned by the family of Gaoth Dobhair teammate Kevin Cassidy. He is a cousin of Naoise Ó Baoilland also works as a SNA at PSGD in the gaeltacht area. Playing career Ó Baoill played for the Finn Harps under-19 team for three years and captained the Republic of Ireland under-18 national football team. He did so to improve his football, as he explained in 2018: His decision to play for the north-western based Finn Harps under-19 team was also influenced by his studies at Maynooth University, where he was within reach of teams such as Wexford or Cork City, and would often travel south to make up the squad numbers. CLG Ghaoth Dobhair
CLG Ghaoth Dobhair is a GAA club based in the parish of Gaoth Dobhair (anglicised to Gweedore) in northwest County Donegal, Ireland. They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in County Donegal. Their home ground is at Machaire Gathlán, and (as of January 2024) they share the record for most wins in both the Donegal Senior Football Championship and the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta. 2018 Donegal Senior Football Championship
The 2018 Donegal Senior Football Championship was the 96th official edition of Donegal GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Donegal. Sixteen teams competed, with the winner representing Donegal in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship began with four groups of four, and continued with a knock-out format. The draws were made on 24 March 2018. The defending champion was Cill Chartha, which defeated Naomh Conaill by a scoreline of 0–7 to 0–4 in the 2017 final. However, the club had to play the competition without two of its county stars, Patrick McBrearty and Ryan McHugh. On 26 September 2018, it was announced that McHugh had accepted medical advice and would be sidelined for the remainder of the year due to concussion. Rory Gallagher (Gaelic Footballer)
Rory Gallagher (born 22 August 1978) is a Gaelic football manager and former player. Gallagher played for the Fermanagh and Cavan county teams, as well as several club teams, including his home club Erne Gaels, as well as Dublin side St Brigid's and Antrim's St Gall's. He was a selector for the Donegal county team during their 2012 Championship success, acting as number two to Jim McGuinness. He left the Donegal panel after the 2013 championship but later returned as Jim McGuinness's successor in October 2014, when McGuinness departed following the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final. Declan Bonner
Declan Bonner (born 11 August 1965) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and manager. He played at senior level for the Donegal county team, winning an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship title in 1992. He later managed the Donegal county team for two spells between 1997 and 2000 and 2017 and 2022, winning two Ulster Senior Football Championship titles during the latter, while playing as goalkeeper for Na Rossa. Bonner's first spell as manager of the county team, from 1997 until 2000, saw him denied an Ulster Senior Football Championship title by a last-minute Joe Brolly goal in the 1998 final. After leading the county minor team to the 2014 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final, Bonner was given a second chance at the senior job when a vacancy arose in 2017. Scotstown GAA () is a Gaelic football and ladies' football club in Scotstown, County Monaghan, Ireland which represents the parish of Tydavnet. History Although no precise date has been recorded for the foundation of the club, Gaelic games have been played in the parish since at least the nineteenth century. One of the earliest written accounts of a Scotstown club appeared in a January 1890 edition of ''The People's Advocate'' newspaper, referring to a game against neighbouring club Ballinode. Healy Park (known as O'Neills Healy Park for sponsorship reasons) is a GAA stadium in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and is named after a GAA clubman from Omagh, Michael Healy. Healy Park is the home ground of Omagh St. Enda's and the Tyrone county football team. The stadium is located on the Gortin Road, approximately a 10-minute walk from the town centre. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three Wicket#Dismissing a batsman, wickets with three consecutive delivery (cricket), deliveries.
