Kjell Roos Band
Roosarna, also known as the Kjell Roos Band, is a dansband in Vallsta, Sweden. The band was formed in 1969 by the brothers Kjell, Anders and Sven-Åke as ''Bröderna Roos'' (the Roos brothers). In the mid-1970s they changed their name to ''Roosarna''. Since 1975, it is a full-time playing band. In 1982, the band began to collaborate with Kikki Danielsson. In 1990 the cooperation was increased when they began to appear as ''Kikki Danielsson & Roosarna'', and scored several Svensktoppen hits during the 1990s. Kikki Danielsson & Roosarna was awarded a Grammis in 1994 for the album '' Vet du vad jag vet''. In September 1996 they changed their name to ''Kikki Danielssons orkester''. In 1998, the band toured in church buildings, and the same year released material in Germany. When Kikki Danielsson left the band in February 2000, the band took the name ''Kjell Roos Band''. "Papaya Coconut" is a song, written by Ingela Forsman and Lasse Holm. It was recorded with lyrics in Swedish by Kikki Danielsson on her 1986 album '' Papaya Coconut'', and is one of her most famous recordings. The lyrics are about travelling from the Earth's colder places to its hotter places. The song was a Svensktoppen #1 hit, being at the chart for 12 weeks from 11 January to 29 March 1987. Charlie Craig (September 30, 1938 – July 1, 2011) was an American songwriter born and raised in Watts Mills, South Carolina. He relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, and spent over 40 years in the music industry. Some of his songs have been recorded by Keith Whitley, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Johnny Cash, Aaron Tippin and George Strait. Ingela Birgitta "Pling" Forsman (born 26 August 1950 in , Sweden) is a Swedish lyricist in popular music. As a student Forsman attended the Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm. 1981–2009, 33 of her songs have competed in the Swedish Melodifestivalen, three of them winners: '' Bra vibrationer'' (1985), '' Se på mej'' (1995) and '' Kärleken är'' (1998).
