United States Army Garrison Daegu, also known as USAG Daegu is a medium-sized United States Army Garrison headquartered in the Nam District, Daegu in South Korea. USAG Daegu provides base operations and support for Camps Henry, Walker and George in Daegu, Camp Carroll in Waegwan, Chilgok County, the Busan Storage facility and Pier 8 in Busan Metropolitan City, the DLA Disposition Services in Apo-eup Gimcheon and various other remote mountaintop sites. USAG Daegu also provides support to the United States Navy at Commander Fleet Activities Chinhae in Jinhae-gu, to the United States Marine Corps at Camp Mujuk in Pohang, and the United States Air Force at K-2 Airfield colocated at the Daegu International Airport. Jinhae-gu
Jinhae-gu (Hangul: 진해구, Hanja: 鎭海區) is a district in Changwon City, South Korea. This region is served by the Korean National Railroad, and is famous for its annual cherry blossom festival every spring. The city front is on a sheltered, island-studded bay, and is almost completely surrounded by mountains covered with pine trees. The emblem of Jinhae contains a cherry blossom. Apsan
Apsan Park is a large wilderness park located in the south of Daegu, South Korea. It covers a series of valleys and peaks of Apsan mountain. Inside the park is a museum dedicated to the Korean War, the Nakdong River Battle Museum. The museum also contains an anti-communism hall. Nearby is a small amusement park and restaurants. A gondola leads to one of the peaks, and a series of trails also lead to the various peaks. Ansil-sa and a couple of other Buddhist temples are located within the park. Camp Carroll, South Korea
Camp Carroll Army Base ( ko, 캠프 캐럴) is located on the south east portion of the peninsula of South Korea, in the village of Waegwan, approximately 20 km from the city of Daegu. Camp Carroll is bound by urban areas on the northwest, west, and southwest. Hilly forested areas bound the base on the north and east. Agricultural fields (mostly rice paddies) border the base on the northeast and to the south. The Naktonggang River flows nearby, southwest of the base. Camp Carroll has been a supply staging ground for U.S. military operations on the peninsula and in the Far East since the late 1950s. Daejeon () is South Korea's fifth-largest metropolis, with a population of 1.5 million as of 2019. Korean Augmentation To the United States Army (KATUSA Korean: 카투사) is a branch of the Republic of Korea Army that consists of Korean drafted personnel who are augmented to the Eighth United States Army (EUSA). KATUSA does not form an individual military unit, instead small numbers of KATUSA members are dispatched throughout the most of the Eighth United States Army departments, filling in positions for the United States Army enlisted soldiers and junior non-commissioned officers. Daegu International Airport
Daegu International Airport (Hangul: ; Hanja: ; Revised Romanization: ''Daegu Gukje Gonghang''; McCune-Reischauer: ''Taegu Kukche Konghang'') is the international airport serving the city of Daegu and the surrounding area in the southeast of South Korea.
