Da Lench Mob was an American hip hop group from Los Angeles, California, associated with Ice Cube. The group consisted of rappers Shorty, T-Bone, J-Dee, and Maulkie. History The group made its debut on Ice Cube's first solo album, '' AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted''. At that time, the name referred to all of the performers on the album (including Ice Cube), rather than the distinct group it would become. At first the name was also spelled "The" rather than "Da" on the album sleeve. With Ice Cube as its executive producer, Da Lench Mob released its debut album, '' Guerillas in tha Mist'', in 1992. ''Guerillas in tha Mist'' is the debut studio album by American hip hop group Da Lench Mob, who originally appeared on Ice Cube's debut solo album, ''AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted''. The titular "Guerillas in tha Mist" was a hit at the release of the album. The album was produced by Ice Cube, who is also featured throughout the album though uncredited. The album peaked at number 24 on the ''Billboard'' 200, number 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on December 18, 1992, indicating US sales of over 500,000 units. ''Planet of da Apes'' is the second and final studio album by American hip hop group Da Lench Mob. The group's final album, it was released on November 1, 1994, via Street Knowledge/Priority Records. Its title is a reference to ''Planet of the Apes''. The album was produced by Ice Cube, Mr. Woody, Dr. Jam, Madness 4 Real, Quincy Jones III, and 88 X Unit. It featured guest appearances from K-Dee, Mack 10, and Yo-Yo. The album peaked at number 81 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Production J-Dee's vocals were erased from the album after he went to prison.
