DWBL (1242 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station owned and operated by FBS Radio Network in the Philippines. The station's studio is located at Unit 908, Paragon Plaza, EDSA corner Reliance Street, Mandaluyong, while its transmitter is located along Coloong 1 Road, Barangay Coloong, Valenzuela, Metro Manila, Valenzuela City. It broadcasts daily from 4:30 AM to midnight. History DWBL was initially known as WBL and carried a Contemporary Hit Radio, Top 40 format during the Martial Law era. At that time, it was the top-rated radio station in Metro Manila. Willy "Hillbilly Willy" Inong, Rudolph Rivera, Bernie Buenaseda, Orlando S. Mercado, Noli de Castro and Mike Enriquez were among the roster of personalities who worked with the station. FBS Radio Network is a Media in the Philippines, Philippine broadcasting company. Its corporate office is located at Unit 908, Paragon Plaza, EDSA cor. Reliance St., Mandaluyong. History Leonida "Nida" Laki-Vera and her husband Luis Vera began their broadcast business as the Freedom Broadcasting System (FBS) in the 1970s. FBS launched its first station DWBL-AM, DWBL. A year later, FBS established its FM station DWLL, which is later on known as Mellow Touch. Radio personalities such as Butch Gonzales, Rudolph Rivera, and newscaster Ernie Fresnido worked for DWBL and Mellow Touch throughout the late 70s. As time passed by towards the 1990s, the couple transferred the ownership of FBS to their children, namely Luis Jr. ("Luigi") and Lena. Percy Lapid Percival Carag Mabasa (March 14, 1959 – October 3, 2022), known professionally as Percy Lapid (), was a Filipino journalist and radio broadcaster. DWSS (1494 AM), broadcasting as DWAR Abante Radyo, is a radio station owned by Supreme Broadcasting System and operated by Prage Management Corporation. The station's studio is located at #25 Naranghita Street, Project 2, Quezon City, while its transmitter is located along Coloong 1 Rd., Brgy. Coloong, Valenzuela City. Several programs of ''Abante Radyo'' are also aired on Abante RadyoTV on SkyCable Channel 85, and on its digital streaming channel Abante News Online on YouTube and Facebook. Its studios and transmitter are located in Unit 908, Paragon Plaza Building, Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, EDSA, Mandaluyong. History 1973–2006: Mellow Touch The station began its broadcast in 1973 as WLL 94.7 or Mellow Touch 94.7. It is the Philippines' pioneering Easy listening, easy-listening radio station that only relied on spinners and a newscaster in its programming. While most radio stations' format at that time was predominantly strident, Mellow Touch capitalized on a "more music, less talk" programming strategy.
