Curt Nisly (born June 11, 1972) is an American politician who has served in the Indiana House of Representatives from the 22nd district since 2014. Early life Nisly was born in Goshen, Indiana. Career From 1998 to 2005, Nisly worked as a design engineer for Honeyville Metal. He later co-founded C-Tech Solutions, a company that provides sheet metal product development and consulting services. Rebecca Kubacki is an American politician and former Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives. Kubacki represented the 22nd District for two terms from 2010 to 2014. Early life and education Born to parents Christina and Raul Espinoza, Kubacki was born in a migrant workers camp in Immokalee, Florida. Kubacki, who is the middle child of her parents seven children, grew up in Texas before her parents found work as tomato farmers and settled in Oswego, Indiana when she was young. She graduated from Pierceton High School in Pierceton, Indiana, where she met her future husband, Michael Kubacki. She went on to attend Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Goshen ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Elkhart County, Indiana, United States. It is the smaller of the two principal cities of the Elkhart-Goshen Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in turn is part of the South Bend-Elkhart-Mishawaka Combined Statistical Area. The 2022 Indiana's 2nd congressional district special election was a special election to choose a new member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The seat became vacant after incumbent Congresswoman Jackie Walorski died in a traffic collision on August 3, 2022. In accordance with Title 3, Article 10, of the Indiana Code, a special election must be held for any U.S. House vacancy that occurs more than 74 days before the next general election. On August 9, Governor Eric Holcomb announced the special election was to be held concurrently with the general election on November 8. Parties held caucuses to nominate their candidates for the election; they had until August 26 to do so.
