Geography The suburb extends from Currumbin Creek in the north to Wyberba Street in the south. The Pacific Motorway bounds the suburb to the west and the Coral Sea to the east. The Gold Coast Highway enters the suburb from the north ( Palm Beach) and exits to the south ( Tugun). The highway is characterised by commercial development along much of its route, but this is absent in Currumbin where the highway winds through bushland over the headland through the Currumbin Hill Conservation Park and then past the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Along the coast, Currumbin Rock () on Currumbin Point on the southside of the mouth of Currumbin Creek is the start of Currumbin Beach (), a surf beach, which extends to Elephant Rock (). Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a heritage-listed zoological garden at 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin, Queensland, Australia. It was built in 1947 onwards. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 18 September 2009. The sanctuary is world-renowned for its feeding of huge flocks of free-flying wild rainbow lorikeets, which come to the sanctuary to feast off the special mixture which the lorikeets eat. The multitude of events, shows and attractions include dingo encounters, free flight bird shows and feeding of the park's massive saltwater crocodile. The park also contains a serious aspect of its work and exhibits, and behind the scenes includes a state-of-the-art veterinary and rehabilitation hospital. The sanctuary was opened as the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary by Alex Griffiths in 1947 as a scheme to stop the local lorikeet population destroying his flower plantations. Currumbin Waters is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It borders New South Wales. In the , Currumbin Waters had a population of 9,121 people. Geography Currumbin Waters is bounded to the south by the Queensland border with New South Wales, to the east by the Pacific Motorway, to the north by Guineas Creek Road, and to the west by Simpsons Road and Piggabeen Road. The Currumbin Creek is a creek located in South East Queensland, Australia. Its catchment lies within the Gold Coast local government area and covers an area of . The river is approximately in length and provides a popular and tranquil setting for many rowing clubs, kayakers, jet skiers, boat-goers and fishermen. Course and features The Currumbin Creek rises in the Gold Coast hinterland below Mount Cougal in the Springbrook National Park, west of the New South Wales settlement of Tomewin and north of the New South Wales/Queensland border. Currumbin Alley is a surf break at Currumbin on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. The Alley is one of the more famous breaks on the Gold Coast along with Superbank and Burleigh Heads among others. Waves wrap around the point and towards the creek. It is exposed to perfect beginners conditions towards the creek and some right-handers towards the point. There's also a great wave just across the channel called Lacey's Lane. Currumbin Valley Reserve
Currumbin Valley Reserve is a 4 ha nature reserve in the Gold Coast hinterland of south-east Queensland, Australia, west of Coolangatta, south of Brisbane. It is owned and managed by Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), to which it was donated in 1999 by the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland according to the wishes of the previous owner, Dr Alex Griffiths, founder of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. With the adjacent Nicoll Scrub National Park it forms the only large area of rainforest remaining in the lower Currumbin Valley.
