Platero Y Tú
Platero y Tú () was a Spanish rock and roll and blues rock band formed in Bilbao in the 1980s, and disbanded in 2001. Their lyrics mainly deal about drugs, bar issues and love, and their style, being mainly influenced by bands such as Status Quo, AC/DC and Leño, and guitarists like John Fogerty from Creedence Clearwater Revival, broke with the Basque Radical Rock trend of the moment. History Platero y Tú was formed in Bilbao, in the late 80s. Juantxu and Uoho were the first ones to practice together, after their former band, ''Ke'', broke up. Maguila joined later, as a drummer. One day Juantxu invited Fito, his neighbor, to a practicing session, and he ended up joining the group as singer and guitarist. They recorded their first demo in the Arion studios in Pamplona with the money from their first performances, and took the name "Platero y Tú" that would become definitive. Iñaki Antón
Iñaki Antón González (; August 3, 1964), also known by his stage name Uoho, is a Spanish musician, songwriter and record producer. He was the lead guitarist of Platero y Tú, and now is a member of Extremoduro and his solo project, Inconscientes. Biography Iñaki Antón González was born on August 3, 1964 in Bilbao. He spent his youth at Zabala (Bilbao), where he met his Platero y Tú bandmates. He started with classical music learning piano. At 14 or 15 years old started to listen to classic rock bands such as Deep Purple or Status Quo and at 17 or 18 he learned to play guitar self-taught. He started playing with Juantxu Olano in a band called ''Ke'' and they recorded a four songs demo tape. Los Bravos
Los Bravos were a Spanish beat group, formed in 1965 and based in Madrid. They are most well known for their debut single "Black Is Black" which reached No. 2 in the United Kingdom in July 1966 and No. 4 in the United States (the first Spanish group to do so), selling over a million records worldwide. Biography The band was an amalgamation of two pop groups, Los Sonor from Madrid and The Runaways from Mallorca. Los Bravos' lead singer, Mike Kogel, is from Germany. Fito Cabrales
Adolfo "Fito" Cabrales Mato (; born 6 October 1966) is a Spanish musician. Biography Adolfo "Fito" Cabrales was born on 6 October 1966 in the Zabala neighbourhood in Bilbao, and spent part of his childhood and adolescence in Laredo, Cantabria, and Málaga. In his youth he worked as a barman in the brothel his father owned. In these early periods of his musical career he admits to having consumed drugs, although now he declares himself "clean". A Spanish guitarist plays in the original and concert songs in Bilbao. In 1989 Fito joined Iñaki "Uoho" Antón, Juantxu "Mongol" Olano and Jesús "Maguila" García, raised also in Fito's neighborhood, and formed the group Platero y Tú. DRO Records (often referred to simply as DRO) was a Spanish independent record label founded in 1982 by members of the band Aviador Dro. It is one of Spain's first independent record labels. During the 1980s DRO was an important label for independent artists in Spain, especially in Madrid. Name DRO is an acronym which stands for ''Discos Radioactivos Organizados'' ( en, Organized Radioactive Records). In the 1990s, the multinational label Eastwest Records acquired DRO. Kerrang!
''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication ''Mixmag''). It was first published on 6 June 1981 as a one-off supplement in the ''Sounds'' newspaper. Named after the onomatopoeic word that derives from the sound made when playing a power chord on a distorted electric guitar, ''Kerrang!'' was initially devoted to the new wave of British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts. In the early 2000s, it became the best-selling British music weekly. History ''Kerrang!'' was founded in 1981. The editor of the weekly music magazine ''Sounds'', Alan Lewis, suggested that Geoff Barton edit a one-off special edition focusing on the new wave of British heavy metal phenomenon and on the rise of other hard rock acts.
