Community March
Community March () was a district-based political group formed in late 2017 in Hong Kong by a group of pro-democracy camp, pro-democracy social activists. History Initiated by former chairwoman of the Labour Party (Hong Kong), Labour Party Suzanne Wu, the group was actively planning to field candidates in the 2019 Hong Kong local elections, 2019 District Council elections in Yau Tsim Mong District Council, Yau Tsim Mong and Sham Shui Po District Council, Sham Shui Po, after their unsuccessful first attempt in Tai Nan (constituency), Tai Nan by-election. All 5 of its candidates were elected in the pro-democracy landslide victory, became the largest party in the Yau Tsim Mong District Council. The group announced their disbandment on 8 September 2021. A community is a social unit (a group of living things) with commonality such as place, norms, religion, values, customs, or identity. Communities may share a sense of place situated in a given geographical area (e.g. a country, village, town, or neighbourhood) or in virtual space through communication platforms. Durable good relations that extend beyond immediate genealogical ties also define a sense of community, important to their identity, practice, and roles in social institutions such as family, home, work, government, society, or humanity at large. Although communities are usually small relative to personal social ties, "community" may also refer to large group affiliations such as national communities, international communities, and virtual communities.
