Colin McCredie
Colin McCredie (born 8 June 1972 in Dumbarton, Scotland) is a Scottish actor, best known for his role as DC Stuart Fraser in the STV drama ''Taggart'', Nick Morrison in the BBC Scotland Soap Opera ''River City'' and in the films '' Shallow Grave'', '' Night is Day'' and ''The Missing Postman''. Biography Colin grew up in Perth and began acting as a child at Perth Theatre before attending the Scottish Youth Theatre. He now appears in CBeebies' Woolly and Tig with his real daughter. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and graduated in 1993. He joined ''Taggart'' aged 23 and appeared in over 75 episodes from 1995 to 2010. In December 2009 McCredie was informed that he and his character would not be returning for the next series of ''Taggart''. On 15 October 2010, it was announced that McCredie would be joining the BBC Scotland drama ''River City'', playing the role of Nick Morrison. Take The High Road
''Take the High Road'' (renamed ''High Road'' from 1994 to 2003) was a Scottish soap opera produced by Scottish Television, which started in February 1980 as an ITV network daytime programme, and was broadcast until 2003. It was set in the fictional village of Glendarroch, and exteriors were filmed in the real-life village of Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond. King's Theatre, Glasgow
The King's Theatre is located in Glasgow, Scotland. It was built for Howard & Wyndham Ltd under its chairman Baillie Michael Simons as a sister theatre of their Theatre Royal in the city and was designed by Frank Matcham, opening in 1904. The theatre is primarily a receiving house for touring musicals, dance, comedy and circus-type performances. The theatre also provides a prominent stage for local amateur productions. The King's Theatre also stages an annual pantomime, produced by First Family Entertainment. Gilded Balloon is a producer and promoter of live entertainment events, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and best known as one of the Big Four venue operators at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe each August. The company has its origins in a venue known as The Gilded Balloon on Edinburgh's Cowgate, where artistic director Karen Koren first started promoting comedy events in 1986. Alan William McCombes (born 1955) has been a leading member of the Scottish Socialist Party for several years, and was the editor of the ''Scottish Socialist Voice'' until 2003. With Tommy Sheridan, he was also author of Imagine: A Socialist Vision for the 21st Century, described by Tony Benn as "one of the very best books I have ever read on the subject of socialism". ''Woolly and Tig'' is a British series of 5-minute live action comedies about a five-year-old girl (Tig) and her toy spider called Woolly. Woolly and Tig is also available on BBC iPlayer for over a year. The character of Tig is played by three year old Betsy McCredie; Dad is played by Colin McCredie (Betsy's actual father); Mum is played by Jenny Ryan (Betsy's Aunt) and the series is narrated by Maisie McCredie (Betsy's older sister).
