Club Atlético Alvear (or "Club Alvear") was an Argentine football club affiliated to Argentine Football Association during the 1920s and 1930s. Alvear had its headquarters in Villa Crespo and its field in Saavedra, both districts of the city of Buenos Aires. History The club was established on July 1, 1903, as "Club Atlético Alvear" in the Villa Crespo district of Buenos Aires. Saavedra, Buenos Aires
Saavedra is a barrio or neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located in the Northern end of the city, close to Nuñez and Villa Urquiza. Its northern border is Avenida General Paz. Among the main features of the neighbourhood is the Parque Saavedra ( en, Saavedra Park), which has large picnic areas and sports facilities. The 1926 Argentine Primera División was the 35th season of top-flight football in Argentina. The AFA championship began on April 18 and ended on January 16, 1927. The AAm season began on April 4 and ended on November 21. The 1919 Argentine Primera División was the 28th season of top-flight football in Argentina. The official "Asociación Argentina de Football" (AFA) league championship was abandoned mid season by the majority of the clubs, which joined the new "Asociación Amateurs de Football" (AAmF) while six clubs remained with the official body.
