Richard Henry Tudor "Harry" Christophers CBE FRSCM (born 26 December 1953) is an English conductor. Life and career Richard Henry Tudor Christophers was born in Goudhurst, Kent. He was a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral under choirmaster Allan Wicks, and later went to the King's School, Canterbury, where he played clarinet in the orchestra alongside Andrew Marriner. He has cited as his childhood musical influences the Rolling Stones, Brahms, Mahler, Stravinsky and Jethro Tull.'' The Christophers are a Christian inspirational group that was founded in 1945 by Father James Keller. The name of the group is derived from the Greek word ''christophoros'', which means "Christ-bearer". Although the founders were Maryknoll priests, and the Roman Catholic orientation is overt, The Christophers preach a doctrine of religious tolerance and intend their publications to be generally relevant to those of all faiths. Founding The early hints of the Cold War revived historical suspicion of Roman Catholic loyalty to the United States. In 1949, ''Time'' printed a debate between a Jesuit priest and Professor Walter Bowie of New York's Union Theological Seminary. Rickard Christophers
Brevet Colonel Sir Samuel Rickard Christophers (27 November 1873 – 19 February 1978) was a British protozoologist and medical entomologist specialising in mosquitoes. Education Christophers was born and raised in Liverpool, the son of Samuel Hunt Christophers and Mary Selina Christophers née Rickard and educated at the Liverpool Institute and University of Liverpool, graduating MB in 1896. Career In 1897, he took part in an Amazonian expedition and in 1898 went to Italy as part of the Malaria Commission, followed by a trip to Africa to study malaria. In 1901, the Malaria Commission moved to India. On his return to England in 1902, he became a Lieutenant in the Indian Medical Service, moving back to India in 1904. In 1910 he was appointed the first Director of the Central Malaria Bureau, coordinating anti-malarial training and research throughout India. Benjamin John Christophers (born 1969) is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. To date he has released five albums: the first two on Virgin Records' V2 label, the third on Cooking Vinyl and the two most recent on his own label, Rocketeer. He collaborated with French singer Françoise Hardy, for whom he wrote the song "La Folie ordinaire" released on her album "Tant de belles choses" in 2004. On 12 February 2006 he sang a duet, "My Beautiful Demon", on her follow-up album entitled ''Parenthèses''. In 2001, Christophers performed in support of Tori Amos whilst promoting his critically acclaimed album ''Spoonface''. Phil Christophers
Philip Derek Christophers (born on 16 June 1980 in Heidelberg) is a former rugby union footballer, who played on the wing for Castres and, briefly, England. Christophers was born and raised in Germany with an English father and a German mother. At 16 he moved to England to attend the sixth form at Lancaster Royal Grammar School, where he represented England at under-16 and under-18 level. He studied Geography at Loughborough University, for whom he played in a BUSA final. In 2000, he took a year out of his studies playing for Brive and represented England under-21s. On graduation, in 2001, he signed full-time with Bristol Shoguns. During the 2002/03, season Christophers was a regular for Bristol Shoguns and a bit-part player for England. Philip Martin Christophers (December 21, 1871 – September 9, 1946) was a provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1921 to 1930 sitting with the Dominion Labor caucus in opposition. Political career Christophers ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1921 Alberta general election. He stood as a Dominion Labor candidate in the Rocky Mountain (provincial electoral district), Rocky Mountain electoral district. The race was hotly contested, and Christophers defeated two other candidates to pick up the seat for his party. Christophers ran for a second term in the 1926 Alberta general election. He rolled up a very large majority over two other candidates to hold his seat. Chistophers retired from provincial politics at dissolution of the Assembly in 1930. She first got her acting role in the family drama Ang Munting Paraiso. In 2001, she made a crossover appearance to the ABS-CBN teen drama G-mik.
