Chris Salvi (born June 22, 1989) is a former American football safety (American and Canadian football position), safety. He played college football at Butler Bulldogs football, Butler and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football, Notre Dame. Early years Salvi grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois, and is one of five boys in the family. He attended Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois, where he was a two-year starter and two-year Letterman (sports), letterman. He started at cornerback his junior year and at safety his senior year. The team advanced to the Illinois 7A state semifinals and finished with a 10–3 record his senior year in 2007 as Salvi recorded 107 tackles, 4 interceptions, 3 fumbles recovered, 1 sack and 1 touchdown on a blocked punt. Safety (American And Canadian Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. The Burlsworth Trophy is an award given annually to the most outstanding FBS college football player who began his career as a walk-on. The Navy Midshipmen football team represents the United States Naval Academy in NCAA Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) college football. George Atkinson III
George Henry Atkinson III (November 29, 1992 – December 2, 2019) was an American professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2014, and also played for the Cleveland Browns, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the New York Jets. As a rookie with Oakland in 2014, Atkinson began the season on the practice squad until he was activated late in the season and contributed mostly on special teams.
