Chris Cauwenbergs
Chris Cauwenberghs (born 4 February 1947 in Hemiksem) is a Flemish actor presently living in the Netherlands. He studied drama at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and there received lessons from Nand Buyl en Leo Dewals. Since 1997, he has played the role of Kabouter Lui in the children's series Kabouter Plop. In 2014, it became known that Cauwenberghs was determined to have cancer of the lymph nodes, causing him to be unable to perform as Kabouter Lui at Plopshows in the Autumn. In July 2015, production house Studio 100 Studio 100 is a Belgian production company with four television channels, four animation studios and 8 theme parks around the world. Hemiksem
Hemiksem (, historical spellings ''Heymissen'' and ''Hemixem'') is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Hemiksem proper. In 2021, Hemiksem had a total population of 11,722. The total area is 5.44 km². History The village was first mentioned in 1155 as Hamincsem. In 1246, Cistercian monks established St. Bernard's Abbey, Hemiksem near the Scheldt, and became Lords of the ''heerlijkheid'' (landed estate) Hemiksem. The area used to be heavily forest. In 1358, the first brickworks was established, but it was an agricultural area until the 19th century. During the 19th century, Hemiksem started to industrialise and grow. Sights The most notable sight in Hemiksem is the 13th century St. Bernard's Abbey, which now houses the town hall and police headquarters, after having undergone extensive renovations in the past decade. The Royal Conservatory of Brussels (french: Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, nl, Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel) is a historic conservatory in Brussels, Belgium. Starting its activities in 1813, it received its official name in 1832. Kabouter Plop
The Dutch Wikipage of Kabouter Plop Kabouter plop (''Plop the Gnome'') is the eponymous protagonist in a children's television series by Studio 100. History Kabouter Plop was born on August 27, 1997. Then the first episode, entitled "The pendulum gramophone", was broadcast on VTM. On August 28, 1997, the second episode Taart for Kwebbel was broadcast. A total of 295 episodes were recorded and broadcast. A few feature films were also shot after that time. From September 2017, new episodes were broadcast under the name Plop en Felle.The children's program was a huge success. For a new TV series in September, actor Walter De Donder (61) is again in front of the camera as Plop after 14 years. The headquarters of the group is based in Schelle, with offices in Breda, Munich, Paris, New York, Sydney and Los Angeles. History Studio 100 was founded in 1996 by Gert Verhulst, Danny Verbiest and Hans Bourlon. The three came together in 1989 when they created the show ''Samson & Gert'', in which Verhulst and Verbiest also starred. Besides the production of their original show they started creating a new series called ''Kabouter Plop''. Following the success of these two shows the company expanded into new fields in 1999.
