Chow Kit Monorail Station
Chow Kit Monorail station is a Malaysian elevated monorail train station that serves as a part of the Kuala Lumpur Monorail (KL Monorail), located in Kuala Lumpur and opened alongside the rest of the train service on August 31, 2003. The station, the second last KL Monorail station before the Titiwangsa terminal station, is located and named after the district of Chow Kit, over the meeting point of the southern ends of Jalan Pahang and Jalan Ipoh, and the northern end of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. The monorail line continues down Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman until the Sultan Ismail turnoff, turning toward the east. The station has only two exits: One at the west side of the north end of the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, and the other on the eastern turnoff to Jalan Raja Muda. A monorail (from "mono", meaning "one", and " rail") is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail or a beam. Colloquially, the term "monorail" is often used to describe any form of elevated rail or people mover. Chow Kit
Chow Kit is a suburb in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located around Jalan Chow Kit (Chow Kit Road) and is enclosed by the parallel streets of Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. It is named after Loke Chow Kit (陸秋傑) a well-known miner, municipal councilor, public official, and also the first local owner of a department store - Chow Kit & Co – which was the largest in KL at the time. Today the area features a large Indonesian community and known as "Little Jakarta". The majority of Indonesia's Minangkabau, Javanese, and Acehnese open restaurants and as retailer. The KL Monorail Line is one of the operational monorail systems in Malaysia. Titiwangsa station is a rapid transit interchange station Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, The station is served by the LRT Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines and the KL Monorail Line.
