The Central District of Marand County ( fa, بخش مرکزی شهرستان مرند) is a district (bakhsh) in Marand County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 201,747, in 52,369 families. The District has four cities: Marand, Zonuz, Koshksaray, and Bonab Jadid. The District has seven Rural Districts of Iran, rural districts (''dehestan''): Bonab Rural District (East Azerbaijan Province), Bonab Rural District, Dowlatabad Rural District (East Azerbaijan Province), Dowlatabad Rural District, Harzandat-e Gharbi Rural District, Harzandat-e Sharqi Rural District, Koshksaray Rural District, Mishab-e Shomali Rural District, and Zonuzaq Rural District. Bakhsh
A ( fa, بخش, also romanized as ) is a third-level administrative division of Iran. While sometimes translated as "county," it is more accurately translated as "district," similar to a township in the United States or a district of England. In Iran, the provinces (first-level divisions) (استان, ''ostān'') consist of several counties (second-level divisions) (شهرستان, ''shahrestān''), and the counties consist of one or more districts (third-level divisions) (بخش, ''bakhsh'').
