Celtic F.C. Women
Celtic Football Club Women is a Scottish professional association football team, the women's section of Celtic Football Club. They play in the Scottish Women's Premier League, the top division of women's football in Scotland. They compete as Celtic FC, and are normally called the 'women's first team' within the club. In December 2018 they announced their intentions to become the first professional women's football team in Scotland with the transition completed in January 2020. History For the first 120 years of its existence, Celtic only fielded male football teams. In the early 1960s, Rose Reilly was noticed by a Celtic scout who wanted to sign her, but the scout found out she was female and withdrew the offer. Excelsior Stadium
The Excelsior Stadium, is a Association football, football stadium in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is the home ground of Airdrieonians F.C., Airdrieonians of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Since the 2021–22 season it has also been used by Celtic F.C., Celtic for the home matches of their Celtic F.C. Women, women's team in the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) and Celtic F.C. Emily Thomson (footballer)
Emily Thomson (born 12 August 1993) is a Scottish football winger. She has represented the Scotland women's national football team at youth and senior level. Club career In 2009 Thomson left Motherwell Girls and signed a two-year contract to join the academy of English champions Arsenal Ladies. She returned to Scotland to join Celtic in 2011 before moving to Glasgow City in June 2013. Julie Fleeting
Julie Fleeting MBE (born 18 December 1980), whose married name is Julie Stewart, is a Scottish former footballer who played as a forward. She spent nine years at English club Arsenal and was the first Scot to play as a full-time professional in the WUSA playing for San Diego Spirit. She won the Scottish Women's League title with Ayr and seventeen major trophies with Arsenal. Scotland Women's National Football Team
The Scotland women's national football team represents Scotland in international women's football competitions. Since 1998, the team has been governed by the Scottish Football Association (SFA). Scotland qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time in 2019, and qualified for their first UEFA Women's Championship in 2017. Chloe Susan Arthur (born 21 January 1995) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Crystal Palace in the FA Women's Championship and the Scotland national team. Rhonda Jones (born 30 March 1979) is a retired Scottish footballer who played as a defender and won over 100 caps for the Scotland national team. A right-back or central defender, Jones played for Tampa Bay Hellenic in the United States. Gemma Fay (born 9 December 1981) is a Scottish former female international football goalkeeper and actress. She played in Iceland for Stjarnan. Fay made 203 appearances for the Scotland national team, becoming their most capped player.
