''Cathedrals'' is the fourth major studio album from Tenth Avenue North. Reunion Records, a label of Provident Label Group, released the project on November 10, 2014. Tenth Avenue North worked with producer John Fields in the creation of this album. Critical reception ''Cathedrals'' received positive reviews from critics. Indicating in a nine out of ten review for Cross Rhythms, Matthew Cordle mentions, "In summary, a great set of songs that build on past work and delivers a strong message from one of the best bands currently working in CCM." Sarah Fine, writing in a four and a half star review for New Release Tuesday, realizes, "This is a worthy effort by an incredible band seeking to say honest things." Tenth Avenue North
Tenth Avenue North was an American contemporary Christian music (CCM) band from West Palm Beach, Florida that was active from 2000 to 2021. The group was formed while its founding members attended Palm Beach Atlantic University took its name from an east-west road in Palm Beach County. During its period of prominence, the band comprised Mike Donehey as the lead singer, Jason Jamison as the drummer, Jeff Owen as the guitarist, Ruben Juarez as the bassist, and Brendon Shirley as the keyboardist. The band released a total of fifteen original music projects, including eight full-length studio albums (six of which reached the Billboard 200, including one which reached the top 10) and multiple RIAA gold singles. Contemporary Christian Music
Contemporary Christian music, also known as CCM, Christian pop, and occasionally inspirational music is a genre of modern popular music, and an aspect of Christian media, which is lyrically focused on matters related to the Christian faith and stylistically rooted in Christian music. Reunion Records is a contemporary Christian record label based in Brentwood, Tennessee, that operates under the Provident Label Group. The label was founded in 1982, by Dan Harrell and Mike Blanton. History The label was formed by Amy Grant's managers (Harrell being her brother-in-law), with the label's original intent to give new artist Kathy Troccoli a home after being rejected by the major labels at the time. Troccoli, Michael W. Smith and Rich Mullins were the label's first three artists. In 1990, they signed a new distribution deal with Geffen Records. In 1992 50% of Reunion Records was sold to BMG and by 1995 the other half was also acquired by BMG. For a time following the BMG acquisition they distributed through RCA Records. ''The Struggle'' is the third studio album from the American contemporary Christian music band Tenth Avenue North. It was released on August 21, 2012 and reached No. 1 on '' Billboards Christian and rock charts. It has received significant critical acclaim. Background and development The band announced in 2011 that they were developing a new album. The working title of the album was "''Strangers Here''". The band eventually decided to title the album ''The Struggle'', and in March 2012 publicly announced the final title and an expected release in August 2012. ''CCM Magazine'' is a twice-monthly online magazine focusing on contemporary Christian music, published by Salem Publishing, a division of Salem Communications. History ''CCM'' was first published in July 1978, as a printed magazine. It has been owned by Salem since 1999. On January 16, 2008, Salem announced that the April 2008 issue would be the final printed issue of the magazine, which would continue in an online-only format. When the magazine was first published, it was called ''Contemporary Christian Music'' and covered that music genre. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music. ''Jesu dulcis memoria'' is a Christian hymn often attributed to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. The name can refer either to the entire poem, which, depending on the manuscript, ranges from forty-two to fifty-three stanzas, or only the first part. Three sections of it are used as hymns in the Liturgy of the Hours of the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus: "Iesu dulcis memoria" (Vespers), "Iesu rex admirabilis" (Matins), "Iesu decus angelicum" (Lauds Lauds is a canonical hour of the Divine office.
