Cassie Fien
Cassie Fien (born 15 September 1985) is an Australian marathon runner. Running career She was a three-time competitor at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. She finished 12th at the 2015 New York City Marathon. In 2016, Fien won the Oceania Half Marathon Championships after two previous runner-up finishes. The 2016 race was the half marathon featured along with the Gold Coast Marathon. She finished 8th at the 2016 Berlin Marathon. Fien is a two-time winner of Sydney's City2Surf. She is also a three-time winner of the Bridge to Brisbane. 9-month ban after positive test for banned substance On 7 February 2018, Cassie Fien accepted a nine-month ban and waived a hearing after testing positive for the banned substance Higenamine. Fien tested positive in an out-of-competition test in April 2017. IAAF World Half Marathon Championships
The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships is a biennial international half marathon competition organised by World Athletics. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 1992 and held annually until 2010. It was renamed the IAAF World Road Running Championships in 2006 and reduced in distance to a 20K run, but reverted to the half marathon distance the following year and to the original competition name the year after that. The competition was renamed to its current title in 2020 after the governing body rebranded itself moving away from the long-standing International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) moniker. 2015 New York City Marathon
The 2015 New York City Marathon was the 45th running of the annual marathon race in New York City, United States, which took place on November 1. The event was organised by the New York Road Runners and sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The main race saw the third successive time that Kenyans won both races. Stanley Biwott won the men's division with a time of 2:10:34. His compatriot Mary Jepkosgei Keitany claimed the women's division with a time of 2:24:25, her second consecutive win in New York. In the wheelchair divisions, South African Ernst van Dyk won the men's division with a time of 1:30:54 and American Tatyana McFadden won the women's division with a new record of 1:43:04. Oceania Marathon And Half Marathon Championships
The Oceania Marathon and Half Marathon Championships are an annual Road running competition organized by the Oceania Athletics Association (OAA) for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. They were established in 2008. Races are featured for male and female athletes. The event is held together with the Gold Coast Marathon. The Gold Coast Marathon is an annual road marathon on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, first held in 1979. Marketed as "Australia's premier road race", the marathon is the only race in Australia to hold World Athletics Label status. City2Surf (Sydney)
City2Surf (or City to Surf) is a popular road running event held annually in Sydney covering a course. The event is a "fun run" as well as a race, attracting both competitive runners and community participants who can choose to run or to walk. The event attracts more than 80,000 entrants who start in staggered groups based on previous running times and early entry. History The City2Surf has been held as an annual event since the first run on 5 September 1971, initially as a run that commenced in George Street, adjacent to Sydney Town Hall. Bridge To Brisbane
Bridge to Brisbane is an annual long-distance fun run over a distance of or held in Brisbane, Australia in August. The first race occurred in 1997 with fewer than 5000 entrants and each year the event raises funds for charity. 2007 saw 24,350 runners participate. In 2007 the Bridge to Brisbane attracted a field of up to 30,000 runners, while 2008 saw more than 36,000 people join the race and in 2009 more than 45,000 people took part. Route Until 2015, the race began at the southern side of the Eastern Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge in Lytton and finished at the Ekka showgrounds in Bowen Hills. The route travels along Kingsford Smith Drive and the Inner City Bypass, towards the city via the suburbs of Hamilton and Bowen Hills. In 2016 the course was moved to Brisbane City.
