Casco (Utrecht)
Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons is a non-profit public art institution based in Utrecht, Netherlands. Overview Casco was founded in 1990 as an experimental art space on the Oudegracht in Utrecht. In 1995 it was renamed Casco Projects, starting a program with a focus on autonomy and intervention. In 2003, Casco took a new title 'Office for Art, Design and Theory' to expand its framework to artistic research and interdisciplinary practices. In 2007, the institute moved to a new location on the Nieuwekade, designed by (institute for applied urbanism) and Jesko Fezer. In 2014 Casco moved to a new space on the Lange Nieuwstraat in Utrecht. 2018 marked another transitional year accompanied by the name change to Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons. Adelita Husni-Bey
Adelita Husni-Bey (born 1985) is a visual artist best known for her films and installations. Early life and education Husni-Bey received a BA in Fine Art from the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London in 2007 and she graduated with an MA in Photography and Uran Cultures from Goldsmiths University in 2009. In 2010, she was selected for the Advanced Course in Visual Art at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como in Italy under visiting professor Hans Haacke. Annette Krauss
Annette Krauss (born 1971) works as artist, writer and educator. Krauss is a member of the Read-in collective and her projects include ''Read the Masks. Stephen Willats
Stephen Willats (born 1943 in London) is a British artist. He lives and works in London. Stephen Willats is a pioneer of conceptual art. Since the early 1960s he has created work concerned with extending the territory in which art functions. His work has involved interdisciplinary processes and theory from sociology, systems analysis, cybernetics, semiotics and philosophy. Martha Rosler (born 1943) is an American artist. She is a conceptual artist who works in photography and photo text, video, installation, sculpture, and performance, as well as writing about art and culture. Lawrence Abu Hamdan
Lawrence Abu Hamdan (born 1985, in Amman) is a contemporary artist based in Beirut. His work looks into the political effects of listening, using various kinds of audio to explore its effects on human rights and law. Because of his work with sound, Abu Hamdan has testified as an expert witness in asylum hearings in the United Kingdom. was a Japanese career diplomat and cabinet minister of Meiji-era Japan.
