Enitan Carrol is a British physician and Professor of Clinical Infection, Microbiology and Immunology. Carrol studies the mechanisms that underpin bacterial infection. In 2020 she was featured in Nicola Rollock's exhibition ''Phenomenal Women: Portraits of UK Black Female Professors.'' Early life and education Carrol studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen. Research and career In 2013 Carrol was made a Professor at the University of Liverpool. Her research considers the biological mechanisms that underpin bacterial infections. Carrol has investigated clinic deterioration of children, and looked to understand whether the use of a paediatric early warning score (PEWS) could be used to prevent admission to critical care. In particular, she proposed the use of VitalPAC, an electronic handheld device that healthcare professionals can use to document vital signs and automatically calculate PEWS. Carrol Boyes was a South African artist, businesswoman, and former teacher that is best known as the founder of the Carrol Boyes Kitchen and eating utensil design company. Early life and career Boyes grew up in the area around Tzaneen and Pretoria in South Africa and went on to study sculpture at the University of Pretoria obtaining a degree in Fine Arts. After graduation she taught art and English in Hout Bay. Business Boyes left teaching in 1989 when she turned 35 to focus on founding a company to design and produce crafts from her home in Cape Town. Starting with jewelry made from clay and cuttlefish and then moving on to create her first items for sale from copper. Lou Carrol
Louis Leon Carrol (March 28, 1923 – April 3, 2006) was an American businessman who is best known for giving then-U.S. Senator Richard Nixon a puppy in 1952 that was used as the subject of the Checkers speech, which kept Nixon on the Republican ticket as the vice presidential candidate in that year's presidential election. Carrol was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. He served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II and received the Bronze Star for valor and Purple Heart for injuries during the Battle of the Bulge. After the war he attended Indiana University, receiving a B.S. degree in Business. Carrol was senior executive vice president of sales at Lawson Products Inc. in Des Plaines, Illinois at his retirement in 1996. His death was attributed to natural causes. Carrol Howard "Howie" Chandler (born March 16, 1952), is a retired United States Air Force four-star general. He last served as the 35th Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force from August 27, 2009, to January 14, 2011. He previously served as commander of Pacific Air Forces from November 2007 to August 20, 2009, and deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and requirements from October 23, 2005, to November 29, 2007. As vice chief, he presided over the Air Staff and served as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Requirements Oversight Council and Deputy Advisory Working Group. He assisted the chief of staff with organizing, training, and equipping of 680,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas.
