Al Capp
Alfred Gerald Caplin (September 28, 1909 – November 5, 1979), better known as Al Capp, was an American cartoonist and humorist best known for the satirical comic strip ''Li'l Abner'', which he created in 1934 and continued writing and (with help from assistants) drawing until 1977. He also wrote the comic strips ''Abbie an' Slats'' (in the years 1937–45) and ''Long Sam'' (1954). He won the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award in 1947 for Cartoonist of the Year, and their 1979 Elzie Segar Award, posthumously for his "unique and outstanding contribution to the profession of cartooning". Capp's comic strips dealt with urban experiences in the northern states of the USA until the year he introduced "Li'l Abner". Although Capp was from Connecticut, he spent 43 years writing about the fictional Southern town of Dogpatch, reaching an estimated 60 million readers in more than 900 American newspapers and 100 more papers in 28 countries internationally. Richard Francis Capp (born April 9, 1942) is an American former American football tight end and linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL). He is from Portland, Maine. Career Capp played with the Green Bay Packers during the 1967 NFL season, which won Super Bowl II. He had previously been drafted in the seventeenth round of the 1966 AFL Draft by the Boston Patriots. The following season, he played with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played football and basketball at Worcester Academy graduating in 1961 and at the collegiate level at Boston College. Frank Capp
Francis Cappuccio (August 20, 1931 – September 12, 2017), known professionally as Frank Capp, was an American jazz drummer. Capp also played on numerous rock and roll sessions and is considered to be a member of The Wrecking Crew. Biography Capp was born Francis Cappuccio in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. He began playing with Stan Kenton in early 1952 and remained with Kenton until the end of that year. He then joined Neal Hefti's group. He often accompanied Peggy Lee on her road dates and subsequently went to Los Angeles where he joined Billy May, and recorded with The Wrecking Crew. He played with Ella Fitzgerald, Harry James, Charlie Barnet, Stan Getz, Art Pepper, and Dave Pell. He recorded often with André Previn's trio (1957-1964), and also made records with Benny Goodman (1958), Terry Gibbs, and Turk Murphy. Sally Capp
Sally Anne Capp is an Australian politician who is the 104th lord mayor of Melbourne, elected on 18 May 2018 and sworn in on 24 May 2018. She is also the former executive director of the development lobbying group the Property Council of Victoria. Capp was educated at Presbyterian Ladies' College before graduating with honours in economics and law from the University of Melbourne. Her first career was a solicitor. Previously Capp was chief of operations of the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and the former Victorian agent-general in London from 2009 to 2012, the first woman to hold the office.
