Cabinet Magazine
''Cabinet Magazine'' is a quarterly, Brooklyn, New York-based, non-profit art and culture magazine established in 2000. ''Cabinet Magazine'' also operates an event and exhibition space in Brooklyn. In 2022, ''Cabinet'' transitioned its magazine to be a digital publication, although it still publishes print books. Issue structure ''Cabinet Magazine'' issues are divided into three sections. Section 1: Columns Each issue begins with four of the magazine's recurring columns. Some columns have (or have had) recurring writers. George Pendle
George Pendle (born 1976) is a British author and journalist. He was educated at Stowe School and St Peter's College, Oxford. After working at ''The Times'' from 1997 to 2001, Pendle wrote his first book, ''Strange Angel: The Otherworldly Life of Rocket Scientist John Whiteside Parsons'' (2005). Pendle's second book – ''The Remarkable Millard Fillmore: The Unbelievable Life of a Forgotten President'' (2007) is a faux-biography of the unlucky thirteenth President of the United States of America, Millard Fillmore. His third book, ''Death: A Life'' (2008), is a comedic autobiography of the personification of Death and how he deals with his purpose, life, and love. David Shrigley
David John Shrigley (born 17 September 1968) is a British visual artist. He lived and worked in Glasgow, Scotland for 27 years before moving to Brighton, England in 2015. Early life and education Shrigley was born 17 September 1968 in Macclesfield, Cheshire. He moved with his parents and sister to Oadby, Leicestershire when he was two years old. He took the Art and Design Foundation course at Leicester Polytechnic in 1987, and then studied environmental art at Glasgow School of Art from 1988 to 1991. Talking about his final degree show, Shrigley later told ''The Guardians Becky Barnicoat, "I thought my degree show was brilliant, but the people who were marking it didn't. I got a 2:2. Julia Jacquette
Julia Jacquette (born 1964) is an American artist primarily based in New York City and Amsterdam. She grew up in the Upper West Side by Columbus Avenue which was where her families apartment was. Jacquette studied at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY (1986) and Hunter College in New York City (1989–92). Jacquette's work has been shown widely at galleries and museums around the world including Holly Solomon Gallery in New York City, David Klein Gallery in Birmingham, MI, the MoMA in New York, and Galerie Oliver Schweden in Munich, Germany. Emily Jacir ( ar, املي جاسر) is a Palestinian artist and filmmaker. Biography Jacir was born in Bethlehem in 1973, Jacir spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia, attending high school in Italy. Leif Elggren (born 1950, Linköping, Sweden), is a Swedish artist who lives and works in Stockholm. Carl Michael von Hausswolff (born 1956) is a composer, visual artist, and curator based in Stockholm, Sweden. His main tools are recording devices (camera, tape deck, radar, sonar) used in an ongoing investigation of electricity, frequency, architectural space, and paranormal electronic interference. Major exhibitions include Manifesta (1996), documenta X (1997), the Johannesburg Biennial (1997), Sound Art - Sound as Media at ICC in Tokyo (2000), the Venice Biennale (2001, 2003, and 2005), and Portikus, Frankfurt (2004). Spencer Finch
Spencer Finch (born 1962 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American artist. After attending The Hotchkiss School, he graduated '' magna cum laude'' with a B.A. in comparative literature from Hamilton College in 1985. Finch then pursued an M.F.A. in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 1989. The first retrospective of his work, which ended in March 2008, was assembled at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Walead Beshty (born London, UK, 1976) is a Los Angeles-based artist and writer.
